Ferment the yeast in a slightly warm mixture of water and milk ( ½ cup) with 1 tsp sugar. Make a fairly elastic dough with the maida, fermented yeast mixture , 2 tsp oil /butter and salt to taste. Let it rise to double its volume in a cool dark place. Mix the dough again and leave to rise.

Topping :
Traditional :

To the above add corn, and paneer pieces and add little methi pdr and garam masala.

Take a pizza pan. Smear with oil or butter. Spread the dough and spread the topping over it. Sprinkle cooking cheese over the topping.Heat the oven to 240 deg ,place the the pizza pan in it and bake for 15-20 mts.Remove when light brown – otherwise it will become hard.

Default Cook N Bake

Pizza - II

Home made is so good.
Maida - 2 cups
Fresh yeast - 2 tsp
Milk - 1/4 cup
oil, salt to taste
Home made pizza – making from scratch is quite easy & simple. Like home made bread, this has a very good taste & flavour.

Ferment the yeast in a slightly warm mixture of water and milk ( ½ cup) with 1 tsp sugar. Make a fairly elastic dough with the maida, fermented yeast mixture , 2 tsp oil /butter and salt to taste. Add little more tepid water if necessary. Let it rise to double its volume in a cool dark place. Mix the dough again and leave to rise.

If you are using dry yeast, usually half the amount given for fresh yeast is sufficient – follow the instructions given in the yeast carton.

Topping :

Traditional :

In oil, fry 2-3 garlic finely minced,2 onions finely chopped ,1 capsicum finely chopped, 4-5 tomatoes finely chopped till it becomes a mass. Add salt, chilli pdr,and 1 tsp sugar(if desired).

Tandoori:

To the above add corn, and paneer pieces and add little methi pdr and garam masala.

Take a pizza pan. Smear with oil or butter. Spread the dough and spread the topping over it. Sprinkle cooking cheese over the topping.Heat the oven to 240 degrees C, place the the pizza pan in it and bake for 15-20 mts.Remove when light brown – otherwise it will become hard.

Default Tips for measurements

Dear Chithraji:

I am so eager to try out the shortbread recipe but I am stuck with the measurements. How do I measure 25 or 50 gms? I know very well that baking is all about measures and approx may not work. Do pass on your tips as to how to go about it?

Thanks

Seetha

Default Sultana is "drakshai"

Hi Sumok,
For sultanas you can use raisins.

Default Measure by volume.

Dear Seetha,
When you buy a 100 gm packet, measure the volume & suitably adjust it. Without a weighing scale, I can't suggest anyother method.
Regards,
chithra.
