Dear Chitra,

I plan to make Amavadai. I want to know if I can make the batter and keep it in the fridge 2 days ahead of time.

dear Vini, the Winnie, I think you are missing out something in the baking procedure.
First please read in detail & follow verbatim
Tips on Baking Cakes
Cake Lore

also go through some online videos on baking. I have never baked anything for 60 mtes. First make sure if the thermostat in your oven is working alright. I am anxious that you shoud not get diseartened with your baking (mis)adventures!
Love,
Chithra.

Dear Shobana, grind without salt & keep airtight. Just before making add salt & give a run in the mixi just to blend thoroughly.
Love,
Chithra.

Dear Winnie,

As chithramma says only some fruit based cakes like carrot cake, butter loaves need to be baked for such long. cookies never. if you can tell us how you did the preparation for baking then may be we can recognise the mistake. i thought may be you forgot to pre-heat the oven! even if you forgot to add baking powder (if it's mentioned in the recipe) the biscuits will brown and have a different texture but definitely will not remain unbaked for such a long time.

can Puli upma be microwaved and then done the usual way, so that the amount ofoil and the strain on the hands will be less?

Dear Chitvish,

A new ILite - first time am asking u for a recipe.

Can u give me an easy recipe for Malai Koftha. My daughter just loves it. Once we had in Simla - the preparation did not have much of garlic and other spices - tasted like Jain food less spicy and too good. I don't have a microwave. So would like to have a regular (gas cooking) menu please.

Thanking u in advance.
