Hello Mami,
After so many months of resisting in vain, I gave into temptation and got a food processor :D It was actually DH's gift telling me I should no more make statements like I'd have done this or that if I had an FP :D OMG we have fallen in love with the machine so much I tell you!!
I have huge amounts of ginger, green chilli, onions etc all minced and stored air tight in the fridge now..:) And some veggies like carrots also.. Ippo engaathula ore sandai, Chander is so enamored by the machine and wants to use it!! Very good for me, I have outsourced all the work now :D
As a first trial, made mixed veg rava kichdi with all vegs chopped using FP. Next I am planning for vadai, usili etc...
Cheers,
Nithya

Welcome to IL, Poornima.
Please read through my Planning menus thread. Youc can take rava upma mix, pongal mix both. Also take some lemon rice mix to be used for aval if you can get it. Take arisi rava & you can make arisi upma in rice cooker.
Lapsi upma, kichdi can all be cooked in rice cooker. Just stretch your imagination, when you go thro' the tiffins recipe index!

Latha, I prefer this to upma kozukatai! Now, don't laugh - I love this best with plain sugar!

Dear SS,
You can freeze the aappa mavu - but now that you will leave, its' OK. but remember.
What do you mean by bread box?? Plastic?? No.
You can use any other cake mould & call it Rich cherry cake!!

Dear Mam,
here i go with the fb for the day.morning it was set dosa and sagu,i did try the interesting variation that you have given.i prepared half the usual set dosas and half the schezuan dosa.truly it tastes diff than regular dosa and is tasty.mid morning was cold coffee as it was too hot here, the cold coffee was refreshing .and the taste is perfect like the restaurant ones.
then for noon lunch it was palak paratha with kadai kurma ,raita and ghee rice.then to beat the heat was semiya bahalabath.the lunch was very tasty and we enjoyed to the core.
for tonts dinner planning to repaeat the kovakai bath.
with the increase in H1N1 ,we are almost spending weekends at home.but a good chance for me to try out the new receipes.
thank you for your efforts in posting all the lovely receipes .we surely are very lucky to have found you.
cheers
raji

Oh, Niths, I am so happy for you!! Now knead chappathi dough in it & see the difference in phulkas!
Do ALL kneading in that. Too smart, calling Chandar's help, "outsourcing"!!
I am sure your akka can give you more tips than what I can do!!

Dear C,
Sunday samayal - Ghuska briyani, Mushroom dhum, Poricha rasam, cauliflower fry and onion raitha. FB kudukka odi vandhen. Ghuska briyani and mushroom dhum made an awesome combo. It was superb. My husband, fil loved it. Poricha rasam was great without dal and tamarind. We had a great lunch.
Yesterday made CVVK, greens dhal and vazhaippo paruppu usili. CVVK and usili are repeats. Greens dhal was too good and very different.
Love,
Priya
