| Dear Chitra, I want to try your jowar dosa. Do I need to soak Jowar flour too for making Jowar dosas. I don't get Jowar grains here , in Winnipeg. Leila |

| Dear Leila, I use jowar flour. Take 1/2 cup urad dhal to 2 cups of flour. Soak urad & grind fine, as usual. Now add thejowar flour & salt. Mix thoroughly & ferment for 8-10 hrs. Make dosa as usual. I am shifting your post to Ask here - The recipes you want from ChitVish Love, Chithra. |

| Dear Mrs.Chithra, Happy Mother's day!! I am a little late, sorry. hope u had a good time this weekend. My husband wanted to cook for me and he straight went to ur recipes section and made one whistle sambar and aloo roast which came out too good. he was surprised that he could do well. i told him anyone who tries ur recipes would do it great. and i told him i am hoping that he tries more for ur collection what is the difference between parboiled and boiled rice. as you know here in US, the rice prices have tripled Thanks, Priya |

| Dear Priya, I suggest you make rajma or channa , more spicy, fairly dry & with more oil as a preservative. Vegetables will not last. Love, Chithra. |
| ||||
| Dear Priya, Thanks for your wishes. It is nice to know that you reversed roles!! I am sure it is nice for a change if somebody can cook even just one meal for you!! Both boiled rice & parboiled rice are the same puzungal arisi. Yes, they are more off white & dull looking.Go ahead & try the same. Love, Chithra. Quote:

| Thankyou so much ! I have soaked raw rice for making aappam. next will try the parboiled for idly. in some recipes like rava idly u have mentioned to use fruit salt, can i use baking soda instead of it? will it work? Thanks soo much for taking the time to clear our doubts. Love, Priya |
| ||||
| Dear Priya, The baking soda should be just half of the fruit salt amount. Love, Chithra. |
