Hi chitra,

can we make " caramel payesam with semiya " instead of basmati rice
as children love semiya

(I know semiya cooks very fast as compared to rice)

Dear Prabha,
I suggest, you try my Pink Semiya Payasam given in Desserts. You can make a caramel as for Caramel Payasam for the flavour & add.
Love,
Chithra.

Dear Prabha,
I am planning a different caramel semiya payasam & will post it if it comes out well. In the meanwhile try pink semiya payasam.
I have Preethi mixi & am very happy with it. Buy it with the liquidiser jar as well.
Love,
Chithra.

Dear Chithra,
I read in Ananda Vikatan tht ponnanganni keerai cooked with pepper and jeera will help reduce weight. I just chopped, cooked well (it does not get cooked very well) then added salt, pepper and jeera pd and cooked for a little time. This is okay. But is there any other way I could cook it and make it tasty?
