| Dear Chithra, This is regarding harmless remedies - for crack on feet , I bought alum, it was named as "fitcurry"(the store person told it is 'alum' only) ,but it did not popup it started melting very slow in iron kadai ,so my question is can I use this by powdering and mix with olive oil. lots of love, latha |

| Dear SB, Thanks. Ghee making is simple - but you should not under do or over do the "patham". Then we will not get it grainy. I think, I will post it in Tips for everybody's benefit. Love, Chithra. Quote:

| Hi Mrs.Chitra, I'm a new member of IL and I'm amazed at your contributions. Thanks a lot. I have a quick question. Can you please suggest the right combination of dishes to make? I'm new to cooking and I often wonder what goes with what. So I usually end up having a one-course meal. Like what else can I make with poricha kootu or mor kozhambu or pitlai? I don't know if you have answered this elsewhere. As far as I searched, I couldn't find it. If already answered, could you please give me the link? Thanks Bhagirathi |

| Dear manjunat, Please don't think, any query is silly ! Along with oats, I try to combine wheat bran or powdered linseeds, more for bulk and roughage. Please remember, this is optional and not a must. Immerse 1 cup of oats with 1 1/2 cups of water & stand for 10 mtes, if time permits. Next cook on a medium flame till it starts bubbling. Simmer & cook for 2-3 mts. Remove, add sugar or sugar substitute with 1/2- 1 cup of milk, to get the desired consistency of your choice. You can add a dash of cinnamon powder, if you like. Serve hot. Love, Chithra. |

| Dear ChitVish Thank you so much for your instant reply. By linseed do you mean the flaxseeds?Do I have to just powder it & add to oats to make porridge? Regards

| Dear Manju, Yes, flax seeds. Sometimes, it is readily available in Nilgiris. Otherwise, you can powder & add. Love, Chithra. |
