Default A small doubt

Dear Mrs C,
I saw your potato pumpkin Jain subzi that you have posted today. Was wondering if it was white pumpkin or yellow[parangikai]. Please clear my doubt so I can try as soon as possible. Looks very interesting.

Love,

Default Query answered !

Dear Eagle,
You can use tomato ketchup. Both sauce & ketchup, use store bought ones, it is not necessary to make.
Love & regards,
Chithra.

Default Fine rice flour...too tiring:(

Dear Mrs Chitra,

I am trying to make savories (cheedai, ribbon pakoda, omappodi, and hopefully thattai too) from scratch this gokulashtami and hence trying to grind fine rice flour acc to ur tips. I am using my Preeti mixie for the same and getting tired already:(

I do not have a chalni bcz of which i am forced to use the tea strainer and hence, it is taking heck of a time and i am getting frustrated now. I have tried grinding over and over again and only half the amount is come out from the little sieve. Could you suggest what I could use the remaining non-fine(just a little worse than fine) rice flour for?

I am gonna try grinding once more and sieving as much as I can and shall use the rest for recipes that u suggest.

Thanks for being there
Shal

Default Hello Shal !

I appreciate you for using a tea strainer to sieve - it can be exasperating, to put it mildly !
Cheedai, I have given with maida, so there is no problem there.
If it is just one shade more than fine, just try omapodi & thenkuzal - a small quantity.
The rest you can use for atta dosai, maida dosai, akki roti, puli upma etc.
Love & regards,
Chithra.
