Default New Thread - Chitvish Recipes - Post your Comments here

Dear friends,
I am starting a new thread for you all to post your comments. This is because the previous thread has already crossed 12,000 replies and hence the pages take time to load.
Besides, I am closing all my Recipe(s posting) threads so that all queries & comments will fall in one thread. This, I am doing so that in each thread, say Sweets thread, one can browse recipes at a stretch without FBs inbetween.
If any link does not work, please let me know immediately.
Anyother suggestions are welcome.
I am at your service in this forum, my friends!
Love,
Chithra.

hello chithramma,

i just finished typing in the old comment thread and you closed the thread... we're both online. I hope I'm the pillayar suzhi for this new thread.

So the tomato-maccaroni bake was excellent. My son ate very well and his teachers said it smelled too good. I didn't have cheese so topped it with your white sauce. Also added one carrot, steamed and mashed and sneaked it in the sauce. Replaced red chilli powder with pepper powder and also added a tsp of dried italian herb mix in the oil itself. It was very simple to make once the sauce is ready. And home-made sauce itself is better in all departments.

The mango halwa will be made today. Y'day i made the puree and assembled ingredients then realised i had only 1/4 cup of ghee. Just now finished making fresh ghee. FB soon...

My dear Chithra,

Nice to see the new thread to post feedbacks. Today for our lunch made Jiffy Carrot Rice and Bindi Raita. Carrot rice was done in a jiffy and tasted excellent. The freshly made powder made the rice aromatic and tasty. Thanks for sharing yet another healthy and tasty rice recipe. I sliced onions and grated carrots in FP. Also, for Besan Paratha, I made the dough in FP.

Love and regards
Priya

Hi ChitVish,
Made "Masoor Dhal Sadham" yesterday with "potato raitha". We totally loved it! I had made it once before but forgot to give you FB. MDS is going to be a frequent repeat at home! Potato raitha is also nice one which blends with all mixed rice i guess! Looking forward to making more of these one pot recipes! :)

Regards.

my second FB for the day. Halwa is superb! This is my second attempt with halwa (the 1st one became burfi) and i was literally smelling into the kadai and watching close for the padam. I think next time i'll roast the besan a little bit more. The smell is a bit misleading... the moment i added it to ghee itself it smelled good to me. But the glossiness is missing... Chithramma, where should i improve? practise is it?

The best FB for this comes from my son. Halwa got made at 8 already his bedtime. But he was saying 'some vas(anai), amma making cake' (that's sweet in his dictionary). He wouldn't go to bed without tasting and he ate chappu kotti. He has asked me to store them carefully for breakfastthank God DH is not here else i'll have nothing to even lick.

thank you halwa arasi

Latha
