Yes, in cooking, nuances count more than the ingredients!!

Re: What a handy dosa or oothappam?

Oh, Mrs.Chithra, can I over take you where or what ever it is?? You, you only are the best.

And, forgot to say one thing abt godhumai urad dosai. Earlier, used to keep the flame high and result, mild bitterness or thuvar(very very light) used to come and was just wondering, later thought it could be its original taste. Now, started keeping the flame on medium and dont taste the bitterness at all. Thought of sharing my mistake with you.

    See you..

    Dear Rama,
Yes, keeping the flame on medium or medium-lo helps when making dosai, once the tava gets nicely heated!!
    Thanks.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chitrama,

Saw the "Cabbage-Slicer" in the gadgets thread, was really surprised ( as you guessed ) didnt think atall that this would give so thin shredded cabbage. Im also planning to get a shredder. Thankyou so much for taking your time and efforts and posting the slicer specially for me :biggrin2: . My :kiss to you.

Made Kollu dosai today for breakfast and Spicy moong pulao for lunch. The dosas were very tasty. A very nice way of eating kollu for persons like me who are trying to reduce weight. The Pulao tasted very delicious, as in one of the FB Saras had mentioned, even i make only sundal out of sprouts and today it was something different :thankyou2:

    Regards,
    Premsudha

    Dear Premsudha,

    [IMG] accepted lovingly.

There are quite a few sprout recipes - go through them. Please make cuts in cabbage thus, before slicing. You will get 1" shreds beautifully!

    Dear Mami,

This was a wonderful tip. I was wondering how did cabbage come out so perfectly...now I know the secret.

Should onions be done the same way? I am quite allergic to onions, I started crying a lot even while peeling.
