21st Menu:

Breakfast
V-Toast & sapota smoothy (sapota+milk powder+oats+flaxseed powder+water)

Smoothy - manam pona pokkil! for me+papaya
LuncH;
Mullangi sambar - beans curry-keerai+milaku rasam
When I make keerai, I gorge on it & so, salad gets a holiday!!
We get from an exclusive bakery (Padmasri Foods in CIT Colony) 100%wheat bread with garlic. I have that instead of phulkas, for a change. It is very good with keerai (Palak+tomato+green chillies)
Dinner:
Idlis (in honour of mullangi sambar)
Me - kadamba soup+MW crouton ( the soup is a mixture of all soups of the week-left overs, ofcourse)

Menu for 23rd:
BF:
Alu Poha
Papaya pieces for me - (we get very good variety now) with buttermilk. I gave smoothy, a well deserved break!

Lunch:
Avarakkai sambar
Pepper-jeera rasam
Ladiesfinger curry
Pasta salad (pasta+capsicum+walnut+tomatoes+figs+1 tbsp curd)

Since we had 2 extra guests & I had to make about 20. Me, Manas & thanu worked like a "relay"! I was rolling out in the roti maker , manas was running passing them on to Thanu, who at the other end was shallow frying them in 2 stoves!!

Alu-gobi
Carrot chocolate muffins.

Dear Friends,
My elder GD, Thanu hosted a lunch (cooking entirely on her own with the help of IL, our forum) today. She invited both sets of grandparents & her would-be-inlaws.
The menu was:

Green smoothy(suggested by an ILite)
One cup of spinach+2 stalks of celery+1 apple+1 small piece of ginger+1 cucumber+juice of 1lemon. Grind everything fine

Default Jaggery Appam - Food Processor & Baking Oven

For today's Karthigai, I tried appam thus:
Blend in the Food Processor (mincer blade)
2 medium banana sliced
1 cup brown sugar ( I uased nattu sakkarai)
1/2 cup each of refined oil, milk & curds
2 cups Wheat flour sieved with 1 tsp cooking soda
1 tsp cardamom powder
The mixture should be like thick idi batter.Add 1/2 banana more if the mixture is too thick.

Transfer in spoons to paper cups in muffin tins.

Bake at 200 deg C for 10 mts.

A day's menu:
oats idli - instant sambar (a new recipe - all in one!- I will post it this evening. Believe it is a "varaprasadam" & you can make in 10 mts flat as little as 1 cup of sambar without stored cooked dhal! I am so excited!!)

A fantastic or exotic smoothy - oats+milk+flaxseed powder+preserved pineapple+cheese!
Believe me, pineapple+cheese make a terrific combo!
