Hi Ashna,
Baking somehow I feel is the most tricky. I hv tried egggless cake so many times with so many different recipes from various places, only to my disappointment. It either comes out soggy or hard or whatever.
I will still try this. but if there are some tips that you could offer, wud be great.
I somehow feel one needs atleast a first time demostration from an expert to bake.

| | Chilled Cake No they are different... Baking Powder - is a leavener containing a combination of baking soda, an acid such as Cream Of Tartare and a moisture absorber such as corn starch. When mixed with liquid, baking powder releases carbon dioxide gas bubbles that cause bread or cake to rise. Baking Soda - is also known as bicarbonate of soda, it's used as a leavener in baked goods. When combined with an acid ingredient such as buttermilk, yoghurt, or molasses, baking soda produces carbon dioxide gas bubbles, thereby causing the dough or the batter to rise. Meetha Soda - is soda bi-carbonate. Regards, Ashna

| | Chilled Cake
Dear Ashna,
Today, I read ur receipe of Chilled Cake - Vow it really seems good. But I need to know what is the difference between icing sugar and normal sugar that we use at home and if I can use the normal sugar for this receipe.
Is icing sugar easily available in supermarkets .
I really would like to try it out if you let me know about it.
Nancy
