| Abhaji, That was a nice account of the wedding. You could write a nice blog on it too.Well yes, god knows who had the malai.HAHA. So u had the fireworks at last eh !HAHA.Thank god for small mercies. I am not against honeymoons.I too had one, long long ago. What i dont like is going for an exotic honeymoon, when u dont have money in yr pocket, or getting the honeymoon fianaced by the girls side. That is not proper in my eyes. That is why i said, any place will do within yr budget, even mysore or ooty, as i did,the couple will always have fun, being newly married. Thanks for liking my writings,i guess this blog is listed as one of the top ten of Indus, thanks to nice readers like you.Regards.kamal |

| Meetaji, Thanks for the kind words. Now my answers, how right they are god knows, but this is what they say here in Rajasthan 1) Female horse ( Ghodi) - So that the man dominates the female thruout the married life 2) Boy sitting in front of the Groom on the ghodi - So that he may beget a son, and not a daughter 3) Tobacco Paan - Acts as Viagra on the wedding night. Well as i said, this is what they say here, God knows the truth. But this is the ritual, and if u see a Baraat there in yr town, check whether the horse is male or female,my guess is it will be a female. I dont agree with all of above,as for me a daughter is as good,if not better, than a son,and all other things are rituals. I never hjad a baraat, in Mumbai where i got married, baraats are banned, and even if allowed, i would not have had a baraat.I am embarassed in the traffic, traffic held up. thanks and regards.Kamal |

| Hello again........... Ok, in my place, the baarat ritual is a little different.........groom never comes on ghodi rather he prefers a well decorated hi-fi car........ Nor a kid sits in front of him and neither he is allowed to have a paan like thing (with zarda) on such an auspicious day......... But I had seen in many of my frds marriage where they follow some of these customs..... Anyways, whatever or whichever customs are followed in a marriage, marriage is a pure enjoyable affair though........ regards..........

| well i had honeymoon on an exotic destination abroad... totally on my hubby's expense... my husband used to say.. dont you get anything from your house... cos tomorrow if we fight.. you'll not give me the remote saying, "ye to mere papa ne diya hai" and Yes kamal Ji, talking about getting an exotic honeymoon financed from the girl's side.... I have seen that too happening in marwari families... well even if the guy's side are crorepatis... i mean it doesnt hurt the guy's self respect or dignity (i wonder if they have it) to accept a honeymoon from girl's father... ohh god... Its like asking the girl's father for money to take her daughter on date.. what the hell... and fathers do it happily haha... well forget that, this one is interesting... there was this guy who was too stupid and kanjoos types.. he being very rich never bought a car, used to move around on his hero honda splendor bike.... so his wife got a honda city in wedding, she being too smart knew driving... so after marriage she used to drive around the city while our stupid fool groom used to sit on the pillion... proudly in his Dahej ki gaadi... ~Abha Last edited by Abha; 13th September 2007 at 10:55 AM. |
