Sri,

Thanks for yr witty comments. Now here is my viewpoint.

If the place was so important, then let me tell u my example.I stayed 2 days in Paris, all alone and with all the money, in 73, when i was 20.But i never felt so bored in my life. What was i to do in paris all alone ? Just kept roaming around the streets, watching shops and sitting in the park all alone.

Now suppose u tell me, kamal , i give u the option, go to paris alone with lots of money, or you ahve a prety girl, hotel and money included, but the place is some remote village.

what would Kamalji choose ? I will chose the girl and the village, and not Paris alone.

Readers choices may differ,i rest my case, my lord.Over to you Sri, for further arguments before the learned I lites. Thanks .regards.kamal

Chitraji,

Dotn answer this, just a hypothetical question.

Go to Malaysia alone, first class ticket and 5 star Hotel, and a limousine and all on the house.

Or go to Malegoan, a small town, stuopid hotel, and u have shahrukh khan to give u company,or Rajnikant, all to yrself, what would be a better option ?

No offence meant, just think this over. Thanks and regards.kamal

I am just stressing whether a place is important or the company, thts all.

Kamalji,
How can I not answer your hypothetical question ?
Who wants ShahrukKhan, limousine, 5 star Hotel et al ?
Give me my Rajnikant, all for myself, anyday !
No offence meant to Shahruk Khan !

Chithra.

Dear Kamalji...........

I really dont understand..... How u wrote this article.........

Marriage is a great occassion.... It happens only once in a persons life time.... U may say with the increase in numer of divorces and re-marriages, this is not the case..... Even in those cases the first marriage is done in a grand manner.....

You ask anybody married after 50 yrs also.... they will have some memories of their marriage.... The dhoom dhoom is to create memories...... I still remember the scenes we created in one of our friends marriage...... In south indian marriages food is very sensitive issue... if it is not good... they had it... We were having the breakfast.... The girls side person came and enquired generally what do u want..... One of my friend immediately said....Parotta and vadakari... this is a item which is served in the hotel and definitely not in marriages.... That man was taken back for few seconds then we all laughed... he also enjoyed it later....Similarly in the Nalangu... Since the bridegroom is a sampradhaya bhajan singer we told that the girl should sing atleast one line of any song she knows.... She said she know only janagana mana... The national anthem..... they all thought we will leave it.... But alas, she had to sing that song and we all standing in salutation...... It was fun....

TODAY IT IS 20 YRS +... Even today their relatives remember me /my brother and my friend because of that ruckus we made and the livelihood which came in the marriage......

My marriage is on the contrary is a registered marriage only with a few friends...Since it is a love marriage against all odds...(caste/status) etc.... It was done so simply...... OFCOURSE NO REGRETS..... But I know what i missed, as I had huge expectations/plans on my marriage.....

So, without this dhoom dhoom.... marriages is only a ritual without any fire......

Regarding Honey moon..... I agree with you that it is essential that boy and girl be there...... Imagine they are in a seperate flat in royapettah, Chennai.... The traffic sound, water problem,Current cuts, gas problem.... cooking probs etc...... The first few days of the marriage and the boy and girl has to understand each other.......... The irritation itself will sometimes lead to.....
That is the reason, we say let them go alone in a good romantic place....without any of the day today problems...... they can enjoy .... Again this is a memory maker...... I have seen lot of couples after 10/25 yrs of marriage fight with each other regarding what the other person has not done in the honeymoon......... .

Me and my wife immediately after marriage went to Coonoor as I was working there... We had our own struggle, financial, guests etc... But thanks to my job had a royal life with a big banglow, butler etc..... Now I am in a better position, financially stable etc...... I can add..... But if you ask me those days we enjoyed a lot than today....

So, when a marriage takes place think in these terms that it is not just the fire cracker and bharath etc. etc.... they are creating their sweet memories........I can understand sometimes things go overboard......

Dear Sri/Shan,

I dont know boys are not supposed to read M&B.....And even if they read hide it under the other books.......

Veda
