Default knitting patterns


The Collar Stole

21 inches x 68 inches

Materials Required:

AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY
"DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED
22 oz. Dk. Violet or any color of your choice
1 pr. knitting needles No. 7
Gauge: 9 sts = 1 1/2 inches
10 rows = 1 1/2 inches
Cast on 123 stitches (sts), work in pattern as follows:
1st Row: Knit (K) 3, *Purl (P) 3, K 3, repeat from * across row.
2nd Row: K 3, K 3 together (tog), * P 3, K 3 tog, repeat from * across row ending with K 3.
3rd Row: * K 3, yarn over (y o), slip (sl) the next st as if to P, repeat from * across row ending with K 3.
4th Row: K 3, * insert needle through next st and y o and K 1, y o, K 1 in same st, sl both y o and st off needle (3 sts made), P 3, repeat from * across row, ending last repeat with K 3.
5th Row: K 3, * P 3, K 3, Repeat from * across row.
6th Row: K 6, P 3, * K 3, P 3, repeat from * across row ending with K 6.
7th Row: K 3, P 3, * K 3 tog, P 3, repeat from * across row, ending with K 3.
8th Row: K 6, * y o, sl 1, K 3, repeat from * across row ending last repeat with K 6.
9th Row: K 3, P 3, * insert needle through next st and y o, K 1, y o, K 1 in same st, drop both y o and st off needle, P 3, repeat from * across row ending with K 3.
10th Row: Same as 6th row.
11th Row: Same as 5th row.
Repeat from 2nd through 11th row until stole measures 66 inches from beginning ending with 5th row of pattern, bind off in pattern. Block to measurement.
Collar: Cast on 141 sts, K 3, * P 3, K 3, repeat from * across row. Repeat from 2nd through 11th row same as on stole 5 times.
Next 5 rows: K across each row. Bind off. This is outside edge of collar. Fold collar in half and place a pin at inside edge. Fold stole in half and place a pin. Sew collar to stole matching pins.

FINISHED SIZE
16" x 64" (Not including fringe)

MATERIALS
BERROCO METALLIC FX (25 grs) 15 hanks #1001 Gold.
Straight knitting needles, size 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook size 4.50 mm (G).
Fray Check.

GAUGE
13 sts = 2"; 13 rows = 2" in Lace Pat with size 8 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
Note: Due to the nature of this pat st, the number of sts will vary from row to row.

STITCH GLOSSARY
SK2P – Sl 1, k2tog, psso.

LACE PAT
(multiple of 17 sts plus 2)
Row 1 and all WS rows, except rows 5 and 13: Purl.
Row 2: K2, *yo, k2tog, yo, (k2tog) 3 times, k2, yo, k3, yo, SSK, yo, k2; rep from * across.
Row 4: K2, *yo, k2tog, (k3tog) twice, yo, k1, yo, k2, (SSK, yo) twice, k2; rep from * across.
Row 5: *P11, p2tog, p2; rep from *, end p4.
Row 6: K2, *yo, k3tog, yo, k3, yo, k2, (SSK, yo) twice, k2; rep from *across.
Row 8: K2, *yo, k2tog, yo, k1, (yo, k2, SSK) twice, yo, SSK, yo, k2; rep from * across.
Row 10: K2, *yo, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, k2, (SSK) 3 times, yo, SSK, yo, k2; rep from * across.
Row 12: K2, *(yo, k2tog) twice, k2, yo, k1, yo, (SK2P) twice, SSK, yo, k2; rep from * across.
Row 13: *P4, p2tog tbl, p9; rep from *, end p11.
Row 14: K2, *(yo, k2tog) twice, k2, yo, k3, yo, SK2P, yo, k2; rep from *across.
Row 16: K2, *yo, k2tog, yo, (k2tog, k2, yo) twice, k1, yo, SSK, yo, k2; rep from * across.
Rep rows 1- 16 for Lace Pat.

SHAWL
With size 8 needles, cast on 104 sts. Work in lace pat until 16 rows of pat have been worked 26 times. Piece should measure approximately 64" from beg. Bind off all sts.

FRINGE
Cut 84 strands of yarn 30" long. Using two strands for each fringe, work 42 fringes evenly along each short end. Knot 2nd and 3rd fringe tog approximately 11/4” down from edge, *knot next 2 fringe tog in same way; rep from * across. Knot 1st and 2nd fringe tog approximately 21/2” down from edge, *knot next 2 fringe tog in same way; rep from * across. Knot 2nd and 3rd fringe tog approximately 33/4” down from edge, *knot next 2 fringe tog in same way; rep from * across. Trim fringe to even off, if necessary. Spray ends with Fray Check or knot each end.

Ramamani,

Tr together is done to make a cluster like effect. it depends..sometimes it is 3 trebles together, or it is 4...to form a cluster.. it is done by keeping the last loop of the trebles u make without closing and then making another treble and then another if it is 3 and then closing the whole (by now u will have the 4 loops.) by pulling through all the 4 loops...
