Hi Saree lovers,
Even I am a great saree lover. Actually I am the only one in my office who wears saree quite often. Though some people see me as pattikadu/"country"/no fashion sense (whatever)... i dont mind.
I am 27 and not married yet. So they see me something wrong in me as even women (in 40s) dont wear sarees to corporates these days.
They wear only for women's day celebration or any other function when decided to wear. Some ladies will bring additional dress to change after an hour or so. Though it is less comfortable than salwar I dont have any problem to be in saree for a day.
Actually few days initially some ladies were inspired by me and started wearing sarees few times but they couldn't continue. I dont blame anybody as comfort level differs for each person. I would say the most uncomfortable dress for me is jeans. Though i used to wear jeans very often in college days I suddenly started feeling it uncomfortable after i started working. Though it suits my body frame I feel it dont suits my face because i have very traditional face and curly hair. It should not be something to show .. see i also wear jeans.. kind off. (in tamil.. Naanum poduvean mathiri irukum)
I love to wear cotton sarees and i think that is the best one for formal wear. But I am very poor in draping cotton saree (mainly bengal cotton). Actually I am OK in draping but the problem is I would mess up the saree when draping and by the time i reach office no one will belive it is ironed. So now i am trying collect cotton with silk mixed.
I always mess up in tying silk sarees also. Though i wear quite often (atleast once a week to office) i still need to learn a lot. May be i dont know some simple tips.
I would say I am slim but many says I am thin.(views differs with different people). I am 5'3 and 48 Kgs.
This is a very good thread.

I would love to be a part of more threads about sarees. May be which cloth blouse would best suit for cotton sarees? That wold be of great interest for me.
Regards,
AVM
