Are inskirts required for long fancy skirts?

Hi all I am planning to buy some long skirts or ankle length fancy skirts for casual wear and some plain dark long / ankle length skirts for office wear and I would like to know if these long skirts do require inskirts to be worn inside because most of the skirts I am planning to buy are thick ones, more cottons as well. A couple of my friends said these skirts can be just worn over panty and do not require inskirts. I would be happy if any one can clarify this as might be going to buy some skirts in a day or two. my second question is do these long skirts come with built in underwear? if so let me know where in Chennai the best long skirts are sold as I can ask my friend to get me if any one can reply to my query, thank u so much, regards, Jessica

my niece bought a couple of skirts. They had lining of thin material. But she felt uncomfy and wore a lycra shorts under. If you feel they are not comfy, go for a skirt made of the lining material, they would be light and also you would feel comfortable. Please wait for those who use skirts too.

I actually wear 3/4 leggings inside skirts and even trousers. Inside trousers they actually give a nice finish.

With skirts I wear them because am scared they may blow up.... If you feel comfy, you may just wear them as they are.

I would recommend an inskirt for a long or short skirt. We have many options now-a-days. There are slips with or without elastic, full or short slips, hosiery pants etc.,

Thank you for the inputs and like Cinduja said i guess I will go in for thin slips of light material to wear under my long skirts as they might be more comfortable. I really long to wear these long skirts and I dont mind going in for some nice slips to wear under those skirts which i do hope some one would let me know as to if the same skirt selling shops deal with inner slips as well. Any light on these long skirts with built in or attached underwear or panty would be useful though i really doubt long skirts come with built in under wear.
