Engagement Sari

Hi,

I am basically from Kerala; but currently reside in Bangalore. I am getting engaged on December. My parents already purchased jewelries for the function. I have to buy sari. What kind of sari, I can wear on that day? Whether gold ornaments are suitable to designer sari?
