Site is back - but with data as of Monday, July 23rd 2007

Dear IL ites,

First of all my sincere apologies for making the site unavailable for the past few hours without any prior notification.

While I am happy to inform that the site is back, I am saddened to say that we lost the past 4 days of data in the process. Now, the site is back with the database restored with users, threads, posts and private messages as of 4 days back. It will have ONLY the data that was there when we opened up the site in the new Linux server 4 days back.

While trying to optimize the database for better performance of the site, we lost the working database. We had no option but to restore the database from the previously taken back-up.

I am aware how much thought and time you all have put into making every single post here. I sincerely apologize for loosing that data for the past 4 days. Be assured that this is not going to repeat.

I just realized that I went from Junior iLite back to New iLite - I guess that I have to get busy now with my posts...not a problem

Nothing in life is permanent or infallible :) So please do not feel so apologetic about losing the database. We are all here and we can all express our expressions again and again :))
It was an unfortunate thing, but hey, we can live through it.

sorry for my misunderstanding. Yes what u said is correct. This value of my number of points of 230 is the value as on 23 jul 07. Madam believe me I
played nearly 6 hrs daily during these 4 days i.e from 23/7/7to 27/7/7, 4 types of games and gained 350 points(sent 350 posts).But at night i found that it is a Database error,when i tried to open our i.L.site. I thouht it is the fault of my system. I requested a hard ware mechanic to checkup my system in
the night itself .He examined and said that it is the fault at server. that is why I addressed U in the morning about the loss of my data(points) with a doubt that some thing has been done to me wantonly. U can imagine that how it will
be when we loose which we gain by good efforts of hard work of 4days .U can
refer POONAMJOSHI who played along with me and MADU and thers.To play even a word game atleast Two or 3 persons must be there .Then only we gain points.But any how as i realized that it is not ur (personal) fault but of server only we cannot do any thing. WHAT CANNOT BE CURED SHOULD BE ENDURED
LET us hope that it will not be repeated next time

Am I missing something here? What are these 'points' that ILs are talking about?

I know that we only have 'number of posts' in this forum and that as we contribute,each post gets added to the existing number of posts.
