5Lakh posts! IL Enters Big Boards!

Dear IL’ites,

Aren't we ending 2008 with a Bang! Today, the 31st December 2008, we hit 500,000 posts in IL!

What an amazing milestone! The level of participation in our community is just outstanding. More importantly, we have maintained the friendliness of the site even as we bring 1000’s of new members every month.

On this special day, I have a one big favor to ask all of you. Please, tell your friends about IL! It is the most impactful thing you can do for IL. Just click on the “Tell-A-Friend” link at the top right of every page on IL. If you can do one more thing, add a link to IL in your personal email signature.

In June of 2005, when we had ~300 posts, I went to this site www.big-boards.com, which lists the biggest discussion boards on the internet. I hurriedly added our site into their directory. The error message quickly popped up saying that they only list boards that have 500,000 posts. It said, “not 500, not 5000, not 50000. It is 500000 posts”. I am telling them now, we hit not 500, not 5000, not 50,000, but 500,000 posts!

Now, off to 1Million Quality posts! Happy New Year everyone!
