Dear IL'ites,
Yesterday, we updated the Forum Etiquette to provide some additional
guidelines and clarification on
Caste / Religion based Threads. It is under Participation Guidelines -> What NOT to do. I am quoting it below. You can access the forum Etiquette using its short URL

- Do not spam the forum with solicitations for personal “friendships”. Your username will be immediately deleted. Similarly, do not spam the forum for commercial reasons. Please read our advertisement options in the sections below.
- Do not start a thread trying to get together people belonging to a particular caste or religion. If you see one, please report it. While threads that facilitate sharing information about the customs, traditions and cooking style of a caste or religion are allowed, it is NOT allowed to evaluate and/or compare them with one another. However, threads pertaining to members from a particular state or sharing a common language are acceptable. Even then, extreme care should be taken to make sure the content and tone of the conversation isn't exclusionary or divisive.

To be a
Global Online Community for Indian Ladies, we can't be
exclusionary in any aspect. When individuals are allowed to form smaller and smaller homogeneous groups based on caste and religion, it makes others feel
"left out" and hence destroys the
"community" atmosphere we are carefully trying to build.
We are supremely confident that this community can
transcend language, religion, caste and location barriers to form a global network of friends that we are all proud of. Thank you in advance for following these new guidelines in the forum etiquette.
