Homepage Update!

Dear IL'ites,

Most of you would have noticed the minor facelift we gave to our homepage. Just so you don't miss out noticing all the changes, here are the top 5 changes we did:

1. "Popular Blog Entries" are now added to the homepage to give better visibility to our blogs. There are now more than 750 blog entries in our site:)
2. The Google search box is now available not only on the homepage, but throughout the site. This should enable you to search the site from anywhere.
3. "Directory" tab is now added on the top of the navigation tabs for easy access. "Featured Directory Entries" are also now added to the homepage.
4. "Help" is now accessible from the top right of every page. It takes members to our FAQ section where almost 99% of user queries are already answered.
5. We have added a "New Here" box that houses links that would be relevant to our first time visitors.

Thanks for your comment.

We wanted to make room in the homepage for the features that isn't there else where in the site - like "Popular Blog Entries" and "Featured Directory Entries".

You can always check New Posts from here:
In the forums page, click on the menu "New" in the purple bar. You will see "New Posts" option listing all new posts in different forums.

You can also click on the menu "Quick Links" in the purple bar and checkout "Today's Posts".

What I write here is , what is conveyed to be by a few friends who are browsing IL Homepage, prior to joining here.
You have to bring back New Threads & New posts, along with popular threads, popular blogs and new blogs.
New threads gives you an ideaabout what is new, since you last browsed.
About the Winners & Competition - well, you perhaps feel, it is important.
Featured Directory Enquiries - are they a must in the homepage?

to you Malathy. As you said it is very easy for the newcomers to access the blogs. Many new ILs visited my blogs.

Thank you for posting the feedback you received from the IL prospects!!

In the recent homepage update, we wanted to make sure we make room in the homepage for those easy browsing features that are not available elsewhere in the site.

Since everything cannot find a place in the homepage, we thought we will make best use of it to give exposure to lots of additional sections that we launched here (in addition to our already popular forums). That's the reason for featuring Blogs & Directory listings.

Also, we find featuring Winners & Contests to be important because they are real motivators especially to new members to participate and win them.

Please pass on the information to those friends, that they can easily get access to 'New Posts' & 'Today's Posts' listing available in the forum page once they become a registered member. Hopefully that gets them registered here :))
