తెలుగు పద్యాల with their English meaning

హయ్,తెలుగు చూడగానే చిన్నప్పుడు నాకు తెలుగు అంటే ఎంత ఇష్టం ఉండెదో గుర్తుకువచ్చింది. నాకు గుర్తున్న తెలుగు పద్యాలలొ ఇది ఒకటి.


సిరిగలవానికి జెల్లును తరుణులు పదియారువేలు దగపెళ్ళాడన్
తిరుపెమునకిధ్దరాండ్లా పరమేశా, గంగ విడువు పార్వతిజాలున్


Meaning:

సిరిగలవానికి జెల్లును = It's ok for a wealthy man
తరుణులు పదియారువేలు దగపెళ్ళాడన్=to be married to 16000 women (referening to lord krishna)
తిరుపెమునకిధ్దరాండ్లా పరమేశా = two wives for a begger, paramesh?
గంగ విడువు పార్వతిజాలున్
= leave ganga to us, just Parvathi is enough for you.

This is a witty way the poet is asking for water for a drought area. How sweet, wonderful.

Though my mother tongue is telugu, having studied in Karnataka, i have heard about sumathi sathakam and vemana padyalu. I am interested to know more about them. If any one can post them here with their meaning like Venonimiss has done, it would be great. The one posted by Venonimiss is a good one.
