Its entrance test to join in MTECH/Mpharmacy in AP Engg colleges. ( first priority to GATE, next priority to APPGECET rank) Other details are @ PGECET-2013 Let me know , if any other details required.
some more info.. As there were many MTech seats compared to the number of candidates clearing GATE, AICTE allowed state governments to conduct their own entrance test and the left-over seats can be filled by these candidates. so, APPGCET is much easier compared to GATE and there is no negative marking. that means any one can qualify and can get MTech seat in private engineering colleges. There are still many seats laying unfilled, so the Colleges are even offering students to 'study from home' and come to college only for exams so , this is a good option for housewives and working professionals. But there is some risk factor here- We dont know when the university/AICTE decides to put iron foot on this.. but some of my friends have successfully completed MTech, while working in IT companies, few years back.
