Ahmedabad is rejoicing as it is all set to host two Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in Season II. In spite of the IPL dates still to be announced, wheels have already started turning for holding the T20 extravaganza at Motera. In all probability, the matches will be held at Motera stadium after polling is over in the state. In a late development on Monday 9th March, 2009; IPL chairman Lalit Modi sent an email to Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) president Narhari Amin seeking government confirmation to hold the matches in the city. According to Mr. Amin, Lalit Modi's email along with a request letter has been forwarded to Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his consent. The state government will have to provide security for the matches. Do you think Ahmedabad is geared up to hold this mega affair? Is it a warm-up to an IPL team from Ahmedabad in the next season of IPL, 2010?
