Hi Kenyan ILs:

Can you please tell me more about the life in Nairobi? What is the cost of living/housing for an Indian family? How is the weather usually? What are the education standards?

I am helping my sister who would be moving there very soon, thus would appreciate your valuable feedback and suggestions.

Thanks
Nikhath

Hi Nikath,
Though Now I'm In India, I'd Lived In Nairobi For Quite Some Time.

I Can Tell You Life There Is Heaven And So Is The Weather Most Of The Year.
Ofcourse Security Problems Are There, And We Should Be More Cautious.
Reg: Education, ,though Expensive, Igcse And Ib/ Gce Curriculum, All Mould Your Child As A Logical Thinker.
Housing Is Ofcourse On The Expensive Side, But, I Think Most Of The Employers Either Provide Housing Or Housing Allowance.

I Really Miss Nairobi And Long To Go There Sometime.many Of My Good Friends Are Still There.

Good Luck To Ur Sis.

Sudha

Hi ashathakrar, although most of the queries are answered by sudhak90, I would lastly like to know what are the things my sis needs to carry 4m india. I mean essentals like kitchenware, any special clothing, spices, etc. Are there Indian stores in Nairobi? Any website where I can find out about the family visa rules and regulations etc. (I was not very successful using Google).

Nice to know that you have spent quite some time in Kenya.

Ciao,
Nik
