for your wonderful writeup..so you came to nizwa at that time and stayed in nizwa hotel??wow..we are staying near the nizwa hotel. and we also visited salalah 3..4 years back.it was so sad we couldnt meet..

I was very happy to read your enchanting experience in Salalah as we were thinking to visit in the near future.

If you do not mind, can you also write about the cost part of it. From the time you left your house - car rentals, hotel booking and addresses,visa charges in the border, how expensive the food there- is it better to take our own food, do you get veg food, any entrance fees for anything....

Having lived in Muscat for many many years .. I am not surprised at Seena raving about Salalah.

Salalah is best visited during the Khareef season - June/July would be most ideal.

It is a pity that many people are not aware of the natural beauty that Oman has . For most people, Middle east ( gulf) means - money, desert and gold !!!! Its not so !!!

If you do get a chance to visit Oman, please dont miss it !!!

I second bhooma. Oman has lot of things. not only salalah, the wadi's,al hoti caves, turtles, dolphins... It is so beautfiul...

Hi Shanvy and Bhooma,
there is another beautiful place in Oman which I had visited, Musandum. It is really a wonderful place to visit..it is surrounded by mountains, seas and lots to watch like dolphins,corals etc..
