I have just moved to Mansoura, Egypt.
It would be great to know some indians out there in and around cairo.

Welcome to IL and also to Egypt.
I am here from last 10 months it is nice to have a nice group here. Hope to meet you soon. Please tell me a bit more about you. By the way where is this place Mansoura, havn't heard about it. I stay at 6th of october, now we have quite a few members here hope we all together meet somewhere. Including you we are around 4 families now here and one egyptian. Default What is Egypt famous for?

Hi Aruna,

I have some of my office colleagues coming over to Egypt tomorrow and will be there for about a week. They have offered to buy souvenirs from Cairo for me. I would like to know what kind of souvenirs or things that is famous in Cairo?

Here you get very good crystal items from Asfour, You get good Papyrus paintings which are really unique, but you need to get them from some good shops or they will fool you. As you get dulicate papyrus paintings too which are very cheap really 1/10th of the price. So you need to be a bit careful while buying any goods.
Hope this will be helpful to you. There is a place called khanal khalili where you will get soveinors like Pyramids and many items there.
