Adoption by a single lady living in US

Hi ,

My friend who lives in US is thinking of adoption.
But the problem is , she is not living with her husband and has not yet divorced.
What is the procedure she has to go through for adoption ?
I know she has to get divorced first ...but we wanted to know more details.
Will the adoption be easy for a single lady ? How long will it take...? Can she bring her kid easily to US after addoption.

If anybody can help ....it will be great ...

I personally knew a couple who had adopted..they were from india and had brought the baby to bahrain..i was told that the legalities are more in this case...but whatever..you have to keep the baby in india for at least 6-8 months..to convince all the people...

So there are again so many rules for single...so you have to take the help of somebody reliable instead of getting misguided information...
that is why i had just given the link.

Today india has a racket in illegal adoption...so ask you friend to be very careful and go to reliable source...

I agree with Shanti. One more thing you better contact any attorney in US too reg. any other laws that you need to follow when you want to bring the child to US.
