If you have loved Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi in Ishqiya, then Dedh Ishqiya promises to be even better. The off beat film Ishqiya had created quite a stir with its story line and the way of handling the subject. Now, with Dedh Ishqiya  we have something even better just waiting to hit the theatres in just 2 days on the 10th of January 2014. Asked about why the film is titled Dedh Ishqiya, the director Abhishek Choubey replied “That’s because the movie is one-and-a-half times better! See, in north India, the term dedhi is quite popular, while in Mumbai dedh shana is common. So, I thought Dedh Ishqiya would be far more interesting”.

The Bollywood movie Dedh Ishqiya revolves around the central character Para, played by none other than the gorgeous Madhuri Dixit who is making a comeback to the silver screen after 6 whole years. Her last movie released was “Aaja Nachle”. Para is the Begum of Mehmoodabad, a small town in Lucknow. A widow, Para loves dancing and art in any form be it dancing, poetry or singing is close to her heart. A promise given to her late husband takes her on her quest where she meets Khallu Jaan (Naseeruddin Shah). The turn the story takes from there is one roller coaster ride in itself. The cast also includes the ever so versatile Arshad Warsi and the lovely Huma Quereshi.

When asked as to how she reacts when people refer to Dedh Ishqiya as her “comeback” film, Madhuri replied, “I’m used to people referring to it as a comeback, though I’ve always been around, so it doesn’t matter. I had seen Ishqiya and was really impressed with the way all the characters were etched out. When the makers came to me with the film, I loved it, and decided to do the film”.
