11. Do not throw garbage on Tuesdays and Fridays and on all days after sunset after lighting the lamp.

12. It is not customary to cut nails after sunset or on Tuesdays, Fridays or on the weekday you were born.

13. Home is supposed to be blessed with prosperity if the girls and women of the house wear kumkum or bindi on forehead as girls/women are considered to be Lakshmi.

14. When eating in a group (say a public place), wait until the eldest person in the group to complete eating and then get up.

15. All the rooms at home should be light at least for few minutes after sunset. This is a good vastu practice. Light a lamp and a dhoop stick to bring in positive energy into the home. Open the main door to welcome Goddess Lakshmi.

16. Do not take bath, mop or clean the house immediately after a family member/friend steps out of the home as it is considered inauspicious.

17. Do not light lamp facing the south or west direction. East or North is the best to bring in prosperity.

18. Do not eat curd at night since it causes indigestion.

19. Before leaving the temple, it is good to sit for a while which helps in relaxation and calming the mind.

20. Do not hand sharp objects such as scissors, blade, knife to anybody. Keep it on a surface since the person receiving it could get hurt.

21. Draw kolams before a person leaves the house not after the person has left.

22. Do not take bath immediately after having food as it will cause indigestion and cramps.

23. Cover your head while distributing prasad as it will prevent hair falling into the prasad.

24. Women should have head bath on Tuesdays and Fridays while men should have on Wednesday and Saturday to have better hygiene. The olden days, private bathrooms were not available in all houses. As taking head bath takes more time, it was regulated on specific days to ease the traffic at the community ponds.

25. Do not lend or give money after 6 pm as lack of electricity those days meant poor visibility when giving money.
