Which is important for a women - a smooth routine job or stressful growth... I felt it is better to work rather than be at home. Taking care of kids requires lot of time and energy. But my hubby says career growth is important otherwise whats the point in working at a low level.... What is your take? Is growth in career important for a woman?

@amnilakshmi: Career growth need not be stressful all the time. Most often a leap in career is stressful at the beginning and then it falls into a regular routine later. Some women make steady and slow progress financially as well as in work, any level they are at. Some women have a way of handling the most stressful jobs look like a cake walk. It all comes down to a per person basis and their priorities in life.
less stressful job, with slow but steady growth is what i prefer, when we have commitment at home with small kids and we still want to be on the job....
In my opinion, circumstances where you kids and family need attention being satisfied with the low profile job would a smart decision. But when things get better, we always have a chance to bounce back and take up the challenge of growing career.
