Pepperoni is a spicy Italian-American variety of dry salami usually made of pork , beef and sometimes fish.[citation needed] Pepperoni is often used on pizza, and sometimes it is used on sub sandwiches. Pepperoni is a descendant of the spicy salamis of Southern Italy, such as salsiccia Napoletana piccante, a spicy dry sausage from Naples. Pepperoni is frequently used as a pizza topping in American-style pizzerias. It is the most popular pizza topping in North America

Throughout continental Europe, peperone is a common word for various types of capsicum including bell peppers and a small, spicy and often pickled pepper

Just to clarify your post on this

Diet Pizza - No butter, but no compromise on taste !

    Base:

Whole whear flour - 1 cup

    Fresh yeast - 1 tsp

    Salt, sugar

Combine all ingredients in a bowl & add tepid watter to knead to a soft dough.

It should be soft & elastic.

Cover with a wet cloth till it doubles.

Press lightly & roll into ¼ “ thick circle on a dish.

    Filling:

    Chop roughly

    3 tomatoes

    1 onion

    7,8 pieces garlic

Saute in a non-stick pan without oil, till well cooked.

Add red chilli powder, salt & sugar.

    Cool & grind.

    Add boiled corncobs.

    Topping:

Low fat milk - 2 cups

    White vinegar - 2-3 tsp

Boil milk, switch off & add vinegar till it curdles.

Stand for a few mts & strain completely.

    To arrange on top:

Slices of capsicum in different colours

Spread the filling over the base; top with the strained cream cheese & arrange the capsicum slices.

Bake at 400 deg F for 20 mts or so till the bottom is evenly browned.

    Serve hot.

    Dear Kate,
Thanks for bringing my omission to my notice. It is the word garlic that I left out & I have edited the recipe & included the word.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chithra,
thanks for posting the diet pizza, it looks absolutely heavenly. The problem of living in Ambattur is that things like fresh yeast are nor available. I shall get it when I go Anna Nagar and try it. And Sunday being my mil's thevasam, I shall have to try it later only. But it sure is tempting.

    Dear Varloo,
Buy fresh yeast from Nilgiris & store in freezer. After 2 mths, throw it away & buy fresh stock.
It is not only tempting, but is very tasty !
    Love,
    Chithra.
