    Dear Vidu,
On checking the Hotel kara kuzambu recipe I mentioned, I realise it is very similar to what I have posted; but
    manathakkali vathal is added
    Orange colour is added.
    Hotel karakuzambu:
    Coconut (Grated) - 1 cup
Khasa Khasa (poppy seeds) - 1 Table spoon
Cashews - 7 or 8 (soak it in water)
Tomatoes 2 medium sized - chopped to small pieces
    BIG Onions- 2 chopped.
    Garlic - 6 or 7 pieces, crushed
Gingelly oil - 7-8 table spoons
    Methi Powder
Coriander (Dhania) Powder - unroasted one 1 table spoon
    Tarmarind paste 3-4 tsp
Manathakkali vathal - 3 -4 spoons - dry roast it in a small pan.
    13 - chilli powder 1- 2 table spoons
    14 - salt to taste

    Method
Grind the coconut, khasa khasa and soaked cashews into a fine paste. (it can be little coarse also instead of being too fine)

Heat the oil in a deep pan, temper with mustard and hing powder and add chopped onions and fry it until the onions become golden brown. Now add the chopped tomatoes and the crushed garlic. After frying them for a while, add the dry roasted manathakkali vathal and fry for a mintue or 2. Add the tarmarind paste and now add the spices - coriander powder, methi powder, turmeric, salt and chilli powder. After it boils well, add the ground paste and simmer it for a few minutes. You can add red or deep orange food coloring powder if you need the attractive color.
garnish with chopped coriander and it tastes just like karakuzambu served in hotels in chennai!

    Dear Chithra madam,

I was busy from past few days and could not give any fb's. I have got plenty of mint leaves, which my friend gave me grown in her house. We will be out for two weeks and I would like to know how to store this mint leaves. I washed it yesterday and let it air dry. Please advise me what I can do with these leaves..

    Regards
    Shree.

    Hi Chitra M'am,

I am not sure if anyone has posted regarding this, but can you please tell me if you have any recipes which could be given to small kids. My DS is 10 months old and his taste buds are too great. Hence if you have any such recipes I would love to try them.

    Hi Shreec
I do apologise for interferring..but thought to give you a tip. Are you leaving your fridge-freezer switched on till your return? If so the best thing to do will be to wrap the mint leaves in a plastic cover or box and freeze the leaves. This way you donot loose the vitamins in them and get the fresh as usual.

Take care...let us know how it went.
    :partyChillout!Also have a wonderful holiday..!:cheers
