easy tasty murukku

    hi friends

    this is a very easy recipe for murukku...

    i used to do every month..

    very tasty also...kindly put the same quantity...u will get good murukku...u do't need to buy out..

    u need

    1.urad dal...1 cup
    2.rice flour...3 cups
    3.fried gram dal 1//2 cup
    salt
    butter or ghee 2 tbsp
    oil
    jeera 2 to 3 tsp
    sesame seeds..2 to 3 tsp
    asofoetita....1 tsp

    method:

    1 first cook the urad dal in cooker allow 3 whistle....
    2.grind it like a fine paste.
    3.powder fried gram dal.
    4.add rice flour in urad dal paste..add jeer,sesame seeds,salt,melted butter or ghee,add 3 spoons of fried gram dal...asofoetita,mix well make a dough...not so tight..like idiyappa dough...add some hot oil too.
    5.heat oil in a kadai..make murukku with murukku press..fry it..


    note:
    1.put asofortita in hot oil & then add...
    2.can add chilli powder..or green chilli paste..
    3.can add water to make dough
    4.if it is too watery add fried gram dal powder...for that only we powdered 1/2 cup gram dal

    Thanks for the recipe. Can we just grind the soaked urad dhall without cooking it first, just wondering cos I don't have a pressure cooker?

    no need to soak the urad dal..u just cook like rice ...& other dals..

    do we need to really cook urad dal?... or is it okay to fry them after powdering?

    actually its very easy to cook....& grind..

    otherwise u can fry urad dal & powder it..& seive it with a fine seiver...

    do't fry the dal powder...

    Hi friend,

    Thanks for the recipe. Sounds good..would like to try. But what rice flour to use. Can we use ready made powder available in the stores? Also, for how many whistles should we cook the urad dhal?

    ya u can use ready made rice flour....only 3 whistles ....that'e why i said easy murukku....
