    Cooked vegetable/Curry

    Cooked vegetable. ‘curry’

This means in Tamil we say ‘ coconut and dal kaai’
This ‘curry’ is very good for health. Generally we add coconut in this type of curry. But we are following ‘diet’ it is better to avoid coconut in this and for normal people, you can add coconut and serve. While preparing this type of curry first remove one or two table spoons of curry for the diet people and then add coconut for others.

To make this curry you can use, Chow chow (Bangalore brinjal), French beans, Cabbage, Carrot, Beet root, radish, , Sweet potato, leaves of drumstick, leaves of radish, ‘manatha kali keerai’, ‘agathi keerai’, green plantain, Yam,

    How to prepare 'curry'

Take any one of the above veg., clean and cut.
In a pan just pour ½ sp oil and make seasoning with mustard seeds and 2 – 4 red chilly. Put the cut veg. and put a hand full of yellow moong dal. Pour ½ cup water, salt and cover it.
Make the gas ‘sim’. Allow the veg to cook.
Check it and allow the water to evaporate fully.
Add chopped curry leaves or coriander leaves.
Mix well and remove from the fire.

If you want to add coconut, add grated fresh coconut at this time and remove from the fire.

If you are going to prepare this curry with drumstick leaves/radish leaves/manathakali leaves, clean and wash leaves before use. Use less water while cooking them.

    Fresh Mixed Vegetable.

You can prepare 'fresh mixed vegetables' as a side dish for chappati/ rice/ even you can eat them as it is.

This will help you to reduce the quantity of the chappati/rice, and fill your stomach with out any harm.

You can have these type of dishes as much as you can with out any worry of putting weight.:2thumbsup:

    Cucumber Raitha/ Cucumber thair pachadi

For raitha (curd pachadi) use thick butter milk instead of curd.

Cut/grate cucumber into small pieces and put that in the buttermilk.

Add salt and a pinch of asafetida. Mix well and serve with chappati/ thuvial rice.

You can add fried and powdered cumin or red chilly powder in the raitha.

Note: Raithas/thair pachadies are very good combinations for thuvial rice.

    Onion Pachadi

For this use big onions only.

Great or cut onion and put that in thick butter milk with salt.

Cut green chilies and mix with that.

    OR

Pour ½ sp oil in a pan and put the cut onion and green chilly.

Just fry it for 2 min. Add salt and add it in the thick butter milk.

Somebody will not like the raw smell of the onion.

So this will help for them.
