    Clues:
    Monopoly board => De Beers maintained a monopoly on diamond trade until recently using questionable practices such as stock piling, intimidating competitors, price fixing, etc

    Roads => Cecil Rhodes, founder of De Beers. Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe and Zambia) was named after him.

    Importance of being Earnest => Ernest Oppenheimer, who consolidated the company's global monopoly

    Beers => De Beers

    Best Friends Forever => A reference to 1. the very clever 'Diamonds are forever' marketing campaign that created the demand for diamonds mined by De Beers 2. the song 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend' by Marilyn Monroe
