Peutinger Map or Tabula Peutingeriana, made in the Middle Ages, the only surviving copy of a road map from the late Roman Empire.

The document, almost seven metres long with colorful details, shows the network of Roman roads across Europe (without Spain or the British Isles), North Africa, and parts of Asia (the Middle East, Persia, India),

This Roman era map, mysteriously rediscovered around 1500, is invaluably important source for the study of ancient topography.

Today it is listed as one of the Austrian National Library's (Vienna) greatest treasures.

Text-Image Clue 1 + 2 - 'Road Tripping' + 'Following the Map'

Early travelers didn't possess sophisticated maps but Tabula Peutingeriana filled this need, serving as an itinerarium or a route map featuring list of cities, villages and other stops, the connecting roads along with distances between destinations, marked in the order of travel.

Image clue 3 - The image illustrates 'Road Map to Success'.
The hint is 'Road Map' (without being very obvious).

Image Clue 4 - Hint - Direction / route

Image Clue 5 - City map with street names and points of interest marked (without being very obvious).

Several lines are drawn on the map to show branches of roads, with special markings for way stations, water sources, rest stops etc.

Verbal Clues

'Antiquity' meant the Classical Times, Ancient Rome or Ancient Greece.

Kaniths, that was a nice find... Is it just me that the map looks like an alligator?

 

Gauri, My results were leading me to Amsterdam, Paris and even garden of eden LOL any verbal clues. Axis,engima,ultra soft all confused me.
