Episode 11

July 9 2:00 PM

Sindhu’s family reached the mantap. Everyone was busy welcoming the guests, chit chatting in different groups. Caterers were busy preparing for dinner. Helpers distributed coffee, juice stuff to the guests. Ganapathy and Nandan were roaming here and there to check whether the arrangements are going fine. Muthu was given the responsibility to take care of valuables along with Chithra. Radha was greeting everyone and ensured they were served coffee and tiffin.

Sindhu was simply nodding her head for silly jokes and conversation of the friends and cousins. She was feeling sad that tomorrow she will be ‘into someone’s family’ on one side and ‘how well this agreement marriage would go’ on the other side.

Infinite questions were bombarding her brain. As time moves on, her heart beat increased. Even in an air conditioned room, she sweats.

Reception will be starting by 6 PM. The event management team started making the back drops arrangement.

Groom will be arriving by 4 PM. By 3:55 PM all were ready to welcome them.

The car arrived. Menaka and Bharath get down from the car. Muthu garland Bharath. Muthu’s son distributed nuts gift box to both Bharath and Menaka. Moorthy and Mallika accompanied Menaka

Ganapthy “Moorthy! Come this side man. You belong to bride’s side” he pulled Moorthy

“No no. I am always Bharath side only. Give me the gifts” he went and stood behind Bharath. All were laughing at them

Bharath smiled and looked over the mantap.

Vinoth “Are you searching someone”

“Searching something to beat you with”

“Why me always? I became stout just because of your beatings. My entire body is swollen you know.” He noticed lot of girls and exclaimed “Oh man! Lot of beautiful girls. Help me in correcting a girl na”

“yeah sure buddy! Come. I will help” with a sarcastic smile he dragged Vinoth

“ah! No da.. no issues. You take care of your marriage. I will take care of my life. No border crossing”

Bharath pinched on his hip. “Man. If you are going to hurt me like this, I will tell aunty that this is agreement marriage” saying Vinoth yelled “Aunty”

“hey hey Buddy…Sorry da. Please da.. please. I will never hurt you. Promise on you da. Trust me buddy” he begged Vinoth

Menaka noticed Vinoth and came towards her. Bharath rubbed his forehead in tension.

“Yes Vinoth. Feel free dear. Ask me whatever you need”

“Not for me Aunty” he smirked

“Then??”

“Aunty. Bharath is searching for Sindhu”

Bharath gave a wild expression with his eyes wide open, mouth widened open. He gave an embarrassing smile. If it would have been a normal situation, Vinoth would have got a nice punch. But now he has been black mailed by his biggest secret he has to keep mum now.

Menaka gave a sheepish smile and patted his cheeks “Wait for few more hours. From tomorrow onwards you need not wait to see her”. He gave a fake smile.

“Buddy. Is this fine or do you need some more??”

Bharath closed Vinoth’s mouth with one hand, clutched his neck with other hand and dragged him towards his room

He got ready with purple color shirt, cream color pant and matching blazer and looked so handsome. He was waiting in the room for his call.

Meanwhile Sindhu was dressed beautifully in purple lehanga with silver stones with matching accessories. Her hair was set loose with curles at end. She was looking like a doll with minimal makeup.
Tomorrow is the worst day of my life
Both were thinking on the same thing.

By this time I will be his wife.” Chi chi” Sindhu yelled.

“Hey what happened? Are you alright” her cousin questioned her

Understanding the reality, she smiled “No,,nothing..a small bug” she pretend as if something has fallen on her.

Both were called to the stage.

Sindhu was made to come along with Bharath to the stage. They were asked to hold their hands and walk along for video purpose

She called Nandhan “Uncle! Please. I am not feeling comfortable. Let me not do this.”

“Yes Uncle! Even I am not easy at this. Please help”

Nandhan was puzzled. This is common nowadays. He couldn’t understand whats wrong. But he wanted to ease the situation. He spoke “Dear children! You should be smiling now. Hide your tension. Its nothing. Photographers..Please leave this. Let them be normal. Come along dearies”

They reached the stage. Sindhu was over tensed. She couldn’t digest she is going to get married in less than 24 hours

They were asked to exchange the garland. This time everyone was standing down the stage. Now no one to help.

Without seeing each other they garlanded.

That was continued with photo session, gifts, introduction which went for 3 and half hours.

Most of the people told Bharath that he is lucky to get such a beautiful wife. Sindhu use to give her sheepish smile on him. She whispered “Lucky you”. Bharath, each time gave a jealousy hard look.

They were taken to dinner hall and advised to have it soon so that they could sleep early.

Menaka and Ganapthy felt relaxed as reception got over without any tension.

Sindhu and Bharath didn’t sleep even for a minute. Both were tensed. They were thinking how to face the new life on which they don’t have interest at all.

June 13:
Bharath was dressed in silk dhothi and silk shirt. Sindhu was draped in bottle green silk saree.

After all formalities got over; with the traditional band ringing, rain of flowers; tears in the proud parents’ eyes & of course Sindhu’s eyes; Bharath tied the mangala sutra around Sindhu’s neck. He then applied kumkum on her forehead. They were asked to hold each other with their little finger and came around the agni. Their touch kindled each other

Bharath’s ears were continuously playing the words “Beautiful; lucky you; gorgeous”.
He planned to tease Sindhu making the smile on her face to disappear. Finally he got an idea.

When they were sitting in the dining hall, he whispered something on her ears.
Sindhu was shocked. Her hands started trembling in fear. Her face turned pale. She was staring at Bharath still unable to digest what she heard. He inserted a vada on her mouth and gave a wicked smile.

Sindhu got terrified. She stopped smiling and anyone could see the fear in her eyes. Bharath was keep on smiling..
