Episode 9

Sometimes we just have to let things go…

As days getting nearer, fear occupies the mind. Saree and jewel purchase were over. Mantap was fixed for marriage. Invitation has come.

It has been decided to have the engagement at Bharath’s house with only nears and dears

SINDHU weds BHARATH. She stroked his name with her pen. Mrs.Sindhu Bharath…Chhhi…worst combination. She threw the invitation card away

Bharath shot arrows on her name in the invitation card. Vinoth came

“Yes buddy! Ready for marriage?” He shot the arrow at Vinoth’s forehead.

“Ah! Arrogant you are”

“I know”

“Look. Anyways your mom will not leave you just like that. If not Sindhu then definitely some X, Y, Z. for that, why not you guys marry each other and remain as friends”

“What??”

“If you try cancelling this marriage you would be forced to marry some other person who would have expectations. But Sindhu doesn’t. She doesn’t have interest. So, go for a mutual agreement and enjoy your life individually. Live as husband and wife for this world. hmmm. Simple” he shook his shoulders

“For the first time in life, you have suggested one good idea” Bharath shot another arrow at him. Vinoth caught the arrow and threw back at Bharath

He dialed her number. Confused why he is calling, Sindhu attended the call “Yes!”

Bharath conveyed Vinoth’s idea

“Hmmm! Give me some time to think” she disconnected the call. She thought for entire night. That seemed to be a valid point. That sounds evocative.

She texted him “I am ok with this idea. Lets do in that way”

Bharath replied “I want to discuss about this. Let us meet in Sai baba temple today by 5 PM”

Sindhu got ready with a black & maroon salwar and matching earrings. She reached the temple by 5:10 PM.

She was waiting in the steps looking for him. Bharath parked his bike and came in. Sindhu thought “Should I smile??? Chi..Why should I?”

Bharath noticed Sindhu. He went and sat 3 steps from her.

“I am ok with this plan Bharath. You friend’s idea is meaningful. If we stop this marriage, we would be forced to marry someone who might not understand us” he nodded

“I have certain conditions.

1. You should not expect any privilege as a husband. Apart from room, we are sharing NOTHING
2. You can continue with your dream of higher studies, job anything. Done expect money from me
3. No conditions, rules or regulations. I will come home any time. You should not question me for anything”

She giggled “What if your mom asks”

“I know how to manage her”

“Fine! Be nice to my parents as well. As they are thinking you as world’s best boy. You have absolutely no rights to disappoint them”

“And so you! Be nice to my mother and help her in house chores”

She shriveled her forehead “Why??”

“I am not expecting you to be a good wife. I will take care of my work. You please be a good daughter in law. May be I will pay for that work”

“I AM NOT YOUR HOUSE MAID”

“I didn’t mean in that way”

“You do. I know my limits and roles. You should never yell at me at any point of time. Behave yourself”

“Don’t expect me to drop you at your college. I am not your driver”

“Don’t expect me to cook you favorite dishes. I am not your cook”

“Don’t expect me to wish or gift on your birthdays. I am not your lover”

“Never ever think to touch me. Always STAY 3 steps back”

“Huh!!!” Bharath gave a sarcastic gesture. They literally didn’t sign any papers. Otherwise dos and don’ts of their life were clearly discussed

The conversation continues clearly stating that they are just going to share the room and nothing else. Absolutely NOTHING!!!
