Episode 8

Sindhu was shocked to the core. “How come? Did he lie??? Why did he accept? Whats going on here? What will I do now?” she was collapsing her fingers with her eyes and head rolling from west to east

She lifted her head and shocked to see Ganapathy standing in front of her. He gestured “Whats up”

He sensed something wrong with her. Sindhu went 2 steps back. “Why are you shivering like this?”

“No. nothing”

“There is something”

“I am afraid everything is going in a hurry. Nothing much other than this”

Muthu asked Chithra to comfort Sindhu. Cousins were also joined. They took Sindhu inside the room. Sindhu moved like a robot she couldn’t hear anything what everyone was speaking about. There were 1000 questions spinning in her mind

Her mobile beeped. A text message from Bharath “Hi. I want to talk to you. Call me”

She was wobbling in anger. “See, thatswhy I never trust guys. GUYS are always guys”. She felt cheated. And hence started their first misunderstanding. She has decided not to reply him

Bharath was confused why Sindhu is not responding him. He suspected whether she would be angry on him. How can I explain this lady. See! They are not even ready to listen the reality. If something goes against their wish, they are enacting dramas. How silly they are. That’s why I hate marriage and girls. Life long we need to spend our time in explaining all things to them..oof

He stopped texting her and thinking about her.

On an auspicious day Mr and Mrs. Ganapathy, Mr and Mrs. Nandhan, Mr & Mrs Muthu visited Menaka’s house. Bharath has gone to office

Menaka has invited her astrologer to check for engagement and marriage dates.

Ganapathy “Please let us know what should I do for my daughter. I will do whatever you expect”

“Sir! We are not expecting anything. Please wait” Menaka went in and came back with a small pouch. She gave that pouch to Radha. It was full of gold coins worth 20 souverign

“This is for my daughter in law. Do you think I would expect money? No Sir! I know the value of each penny. You please arrange the marriage in a grand manner. That’s more than enough. Otherwise please don’t invest anything in things. I have saved enough for my kids.”

Ganapathy smiled big in pride. His respect on Menaka keep on going up and up and up

“According to me daughter in law is nothing but an amazing daughter god has delayed a bit to give me. I thank him for not delaying more. I love Bharath. He is my world after my husband left me alone. I wanted him to marry so that I will get a daughter. Even if you don’t do anything I will take care of her well. She is your daughter. Do whatever you need. I have absolutely no expectations. Just one suggestion. Please don’t over strain yourself”

Radha clutched Menaka’s hand. Nandhan whispered in Ganapathy’s ears “Brother. Our Sindhu is so lucky to get such a life”. Ganapathy nodded

Dates are fixed. June 13[SUP]th[/SUP] is engagement. July 10[SUP]th[/SUP] is marriage. Exactly 1 month from today

Bharath’s mobile vibrated. Menaka was on line “Bharath. Good news. June 13[SUP]th[/SUP] is the engagement and July 10[SUP]th[/SUP] is marriage. You are happy right”

Bharath has no answer to say. So early..“Yes Mom. Thanks. As I am busy, I will call you later” he threw the phone away. He wanted to thrash on someone. With much of frustration, he applied permission and left the office. He boarded some bus without any destination.

Chithra texted Sindhu the dates of her engagement and marriage. She started sobbing on reading the message. My indepence gonna last for just a month

She dialed Bharath’s number. He picked the call in the second attempt

“Hello! I am Sindhu.”

“I know. Tell me”

“The marriage dates are fixed”

“So??”

“So?? Why have you not done anything towards stopping this? I trusted you”

“Why can’t you speak with your dad? Same reason here. Even now I am not interested.”

“See. You told…”

“Look. I am already irritated. Don’t test my sense more. I will become wild. Get lost. Go talk to your dad. I can’t hurt my mom further. And I have accepted only for her sake.”

“Do you think I am nuts. Don’t want to get married. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?”

“AND SO I…do you think you are Aishwarya Rai so that everyone falls on your beauty. Don’t make me talk further. I am not in my sense. I might say something which could hurt you. Better you stop talking to me” saying he disconnected the call

Sindhu felt annoyed and insulted. She texted him “I HATE YOU dumphead”

Bharath was even more irritated than before “SAME HERE IDIOT”

“It is my mistake to trust you”
“I didn’t ask you to trust me”
“You will taste the hell”
“I know that already. And you too”

Sindhu’s head was spinning. She has no one to share this matter except Radha. Now she has also joined Ganapathy’s party. From Chithra and Nandan, she came to know Menaka is extremely good at heart.

She was relieved a bit. But what about this idiot??
