Love After Marriage!!!

Gotcha inboxsweetee. Thank you so much for letting me know. Actually the name got messed up with another story i am writing for a competition in my office..Apologies for that. Ideally that should be Bharath only

Episode 7

Ganapathy was so ferocious. He suspected Sindhu could be the reason for Bharath’s such behavior as he was unaware of Bharath’s plan

“What did you say him? Do you know how we are struggling to get a good match for you” He yelled at her raising his hands on her. Sindhu tried to protect her from him

Nandhan came and consoled Ganapathy “Brother. Please stay calm. I will ask what happened. They have not rejected. Just seeked some time to tell their decision. Thats all. Let us please wait till they come back”

He came near Sindhu and comforted her lacing her hair and patted in her cheek. “Tell me child. What did he ask? What did you say? You like that guy na?”

“Aa…aa..Uncle..I..I..I dint say anything…He..he was asking questions” Sindhu replied with her eyes oscillating between Ganapathy and Nandhan

“WHAT QUESTIONS?” yelled Ganapathy

“IQ test” Sindhu replied immediately and bit her tongue “Why Am I blabbering? Oh my god. Please save me from this”

Everyone gave a puzzled look. Sindhu’s hands were shivering in fear.

“IQ test???” Ganapathy perplexed and so others.

“Nnno..I mean..he asked general questions and IQ questions. I answered everything to my level best Dad”

Ganapathy rubbed his hands in tension and seated.

Sindhu’s lips started chanting prayers. Radha stood as statue thinking where this will be leading to..

At Bharath’s house:

Menaka didn’t open her mouth till she reached home. Vinoth got down half way and went to his home.

Moorthy was keeping on asking Bharath why he asked for time to decide. He didn’t answer but looking at Menaka how she will be reacting. He was thinking of possible questions he would be bombarded with and convincing answers to be given

After reaching home he was expecting Menaka to throw tantrums. But she was very calm.

“Now you answer Bharath. I have to say something to Ganapathy. Just imagine their mind state now. Wouldn’t they be confused and worried?”

“Don’t ask him anything brother. He is grown up now and he has rights to take his own decision. Sir is earning more than anything. So he doesn’t need to respect us. Please cancel this marriage proposal”

“Mom! What are you talking?”

“Brother. I don’t want to talk to him. I will cook for him, and I will eat as well. Because if he has decided to stay alone, till my period I have the responsibility to take care of him right. BUT, I will never talk to him. I am so disappointed by his act. So far he has rejected before we commit anything to girl’s family. But today??? We went to their home and saw the girl. I never like rejecting a girl after this bride seeing ceremony. At least in my family such things have never happened.”

“But you only forced me to come right”

“Yes! That’s the mistake. I accept. Who am I to decide his future? I am going to be his cook and maid. Not Mom. Convey this to him anna”

Menaka was not ready to speak with Bharath. He clutched her hand but she took it back from him. He held his head in his palms sitting on the dining table. He understood it would be difficult to convince her now. His mind started making out plans to overcome the current situation

He thought for some time and told to Moorthy “Uncle! Nothing is important to me other than my Mom and her happiness. I was just in need of sometime to decide about this as this is major decision of life. Please convey my acceptance to that family. ”

He felt his last hope has been shattered to pieces. He was also afraid how Sindhu might take it. He has given false hope to her as well.

“You need not accept for my sake. That will affect girl’s life”

“No Mom. I…like…” words tucked his throat. “that girl” he managed to finish the sentence finally

“Really???”

“Yes. I just needed some time to think. You can proceed.” He swallowed his thoughts along with saliva “I am ready for marriage even if it is tomorrow Mom”

He hugged her. Menaka’s eyes filled with tears “I am sorry dear if I have hurt you”

He shooked his head. His heart was paining. Still he doesn’t want to get married. He hates marriage. He hates girls. He felt like standing on thorns when he imagined himself tying the knot with the girl

“Menaka. You then inform Ganapathy. He would be waiting desperately for our reply.”

“Yeah Brother! You please call and convey. Lets not drag their tension. Please ask him to come here. We will finalize the dates” Menaka was very happy. She hugged Bharath again and went to Pooja room.

Moorthy patted his shoulders and happily dialed Ganapathy’s number

A complete silence was prevailing in Ganapthy’s house. Everyone was seated in different direction and remained silent. That was disturbed by the ringtone gathering all of their attention. Muthu took the mobile and read “Moorthy calling”

Ganapathy fluttered from his chair and seized the mobile. His face had nerves of anxiety, tension and what not… Sindhu’s heart smiled. “ESCAPE!!” All stood up and gathered around him. Ganapathy attended the call and placed the phone on his ears. His hands were quivering. Radha came near him trying to overhear.

Everyone was eager to know as if waiting for India – Pakistan cricket match and final chance for India to win for 4 runs in one last ball; batsman hitting the ball towards boundar; fielder trying to catch the ball; fingers crossed between catch or boundary

Ganapthy’s face gloomed, lips widened smiling, head lifted in happiness, left hand held his heart. “Thank you Moorthy….. Thank you so much…. Yeah! Sure…I will come…Thanks…Thanks again”

Sindhu could not infer anything. She didn’t expect Bharath would say YES. Still she was confused and waited desperately to understand her dad’s reaction.

Ganapathy cut the call and turned towards Radha “The marriage is fixed. Groom said ok. They have invited us to their house to speak further and fix the marriage date”.

All started smiling except Sindhu!!!
