Love After Marriage!!!

Episode 6

Sun shined bright. Several eyes were eagerly watching the road for their arrival. Nandhan – Radha’s brother was waiting near the gate entrance forestalling their arrival.

He jumped in joy when he noticed the car bumper and shouted at everyone. Ganapathy, Radha, Mrs.Shanthi Nandhan, Chithra – Ganapthy’s sister, Muthu – husband of Chithra all arrived at the gate.

Menaka and family reached Ganapathy’s house. They were given a grand welcome by everyone.

They all were made to sit comfortably. Radha offered water to everyone.

“Lets don’t be formal. We are comfortable enough. All please be seated so that we shall have casual chit chat” when Menaka said everyone smiled and came together.

The conversation started with general topic later Moorthy told how he knows Menaka and Ganapthy family. “I will be really happy if these two get married. I know both the kids from their childhood. It is nothing but destiny which brought us here”

Moorthy and Vinoth cracked jokes and all were laughing. Ganapathy started liking Menaka’s family a lot. He felt lucky to have this alliance and prayed god to fix the alliance.

Bharath gawked at Moorthy. “Because of you, this has come to such a stage”

After 10 minutes of chatting Menaka requested Radha to bring Sindhu to the hall. Radha and Chithra went inside and brought Sindhu.

The gorgeous Sindhu walked in slowly wearing a fake smile in her lips. She wished everyone keeping her hands united. Bharath was still looking down rubbing his hands feeling embarrassed for being there. Menaka was so excited to see her. She held Sindhu’s hand and made her sit next to her. She enquired about her studies and other whereabouts for which Sindhu answered politely. Somehow she liked Menaka, but immediately her mind commanded “Initially all MIL are good only”

Moorthy asked Sindhu to see the groom without any shy. She obeyed and gave a look at Bharath and turned her face away. Bharath as well did the same thing, saw her for a second and turned towards Vinoth.

Vinoth pressed Bharath’s hand and gestured “All Ok??”. Bharath shooked his head. Vinoth made funny faces and asked him to be calm. Moorthy noticed this and asked Ganapthy “Why not we allow these 2 to speak for some 5-10 minutes”

Menaka, Ganapthy and Radha were shocked. Sindhu and Bharath lifted their head suddenly. Little hope glittered in their eyes.

Moorthy understood the parents’ reaction but he insisted them to talk personally if they want to.
Bharath and Sindhu raised from the chair immediately. Vinoth giggled seeing their reaction. Ganapathy and Menaka stared at Sindhu and Bharath viciously.

Without knowing the situation, Chithra directed Bharath to go to the terrace. Sindhu followed him.

From the corner of his eye, Bharath noticed Menaka started telling silent prayers and smirked.

At the terrace:

When Sindhu was about to start the conversation she was stopped by Bharath adjusting his throat. “”hrrmm. Hi Sindhu. I don’t know how to start, but I cannot waste this time in explanations. Let me make it simple”

Sindhu in her mind“please say you don’t like me. Please say you don’t like me”

“I came here because of my mother’s compulsion. I am ….actually….you know…i…am…not interested in marriage”

He was expecting shock reaction from her and thinking how to console, convince searching for words but was surprised to see Sindhu laughing .. she looked up the sky and thanked God still chuckling..

Bharath was confused now

“Thanks Bharath. Even I was hoping to stop this marriage. I don’t like or believe in marriage. I accepted because of my parents’ compulsion. I was thinking how to tell you but you have said that. I am so happy. But you know my father is very strict and rude. I have never spoken in front of him. Please say that you don’t like me. Please” she prayed him

Bharath narrated all emotional scene created by Menaka the previous day. Sindhu was stunned.

“I am happy that even you didn’t like this marriage. Let us do something. Give me a day time. I will think. You too think of something. Take my phone number and give me yours. Call me if you get some plan.” He gave his phone to her. Sindhu dialed her number, gave a ring to her mobile and returned back to him.

“What if they are not accepting??”

“Let us think positively Mam”
“I am afraid I can’t speak to my dad. I have already done that.”

“We can’t take Moorthy uncle’s help. He will complain to my Mom. Then I will not be able to face her”

“Better you say, you will be flying onsite after marriage. My dad is not ready to give me to a person who works abroad”

“But my mom knows I won’t go. That doesn’t work. I have been rejecting all offers so far just to stay with her. If I say this she knows well I am playing to stop this marriage”

Sindhu stood silent “Fine. Lets think. We still have time. I will say that I need some time to decide”

They both sighed in relief, smiled at each other and came down.

Seeing them smiling Ganapthy was relaxed. But his happiness vanished when Bharath informed that he will say his opinion in a couple of days. Menaka was astonished. She clutched his hand so tightly but Bharath patted her gently to stay calm.

Ganapthy glared at Sindhu. She went 2 steps back with heads down and her hands trembling in fear.

The josh prevailed sometime back was eradicated when confusion, puzzle, anxiety started spreading Ganapthy’s house after Menaka and her family left.
