    Answer to puzzle: 5140

    Answer: Margherita Pizza

Urban legend has it that Pizza Margherita was invented in 1889 when the Royal Palace of Capodimonte commissioned the Neapolitan pizzaiolo Raffaele Esposito to create a pizza in honor of the visiting Queen Margherita. He created three and the Queen’s firm favorite was the one with the three colors of the Italian flag, red (tomato), green (basil) and white (mozzarella). This is supposedly where the Margherita got its name, although these facts have been disputed.

    Clues are obvious.

    Some interesting facts on Pizzas.

    1. The largest pizza recorded is 129x98.6 foot pizza created by Bill Bahr of Iowa falls. With 200 assistants he created this pizza with 1815 Kg of cheese, 3175 Kg of sauce and 4310 Kg of crust.

    2. In 2006 Cristian Dumitru of Romania managed to eat a 90 kilo pizza in one week.

    3. The most popular pizza topping in the USA is pepperoni, the least favorite is anchovies.

    4. The longest pizza delivery was ten thousand miles when one pizza left Feltham, England and was delivered in Melbourne.

    5. The most expensive 12” pizza, made with toppings such as smoked salmon, venison, edible gold, lobster marinated in the finest cognac and champagne soaked caviar, made by Nino’s Bellisima in New York City carries a $1000 price tag!

@Akanksha1982, it was interesting to know about Margherita Pizza. The word pizza is actually derived from two separate terms that stem from two different cultures. It is an amalgamation of the Latin verb “pinsere,” which means “to press,” and the Greek word “pektos,” which means solid.

Which Pizza do you folks like? Dominos, Pizzahut, UNO Pizzeria , Papa Johns or any other chain or local store one's?

I like Round Table Veggie pizza, Mountain Mikes. We also have a few local stores that serve Indian Pizza - Kachori pizza, panner tika pizza etc. Kachori pizza is my favorite.

But mostly we get the crust from Costco and cook the pizza at home. we like with a lot of veggies and less cheese.
