    Everyone who has a puzzle ready, go ahead and post it if you want. We can have a puzzle buffet to ring in the new year. Bring 'em on!

    @Gauri03,

    Let the Goddess of Joy and Happiness bless everyone for a great new year. Let her take away all our sufferings and bury it in a well so that we can all have a simple and fun life.

    I was shocked when I read that line in Wiki as well. Interestingly, after moving their headquarters to London on the eve of handover of Hong Kong to China, now the bank is reconsidering moving back to Hong Kong where it was founded as the Asian market is the largest segment in their business. They are getting little tired of European regulations.

    Am sure they have a lot more 'scope' for their business here in Asia!

    Solution to puzzle #4807

    Election ink or the indelible ink.

    Image 5: Dr. Rajendra Prasad swearing in Pt. Nehru for the third Lok Sabha when the election ink was used for the first time. ( I had hoped this image would indicate the theme of the puzzle ).

    Image 1: The grand archway of the Mysore Palace. Another feather in Mysore's cap, the Mysore Paints and Varnishes Ltd is the only company authorised to manufacture the indelible ink.

    Img 2: A pun, as Gauri had mentioned " democracy's manicure kit".

    Img 3 & 4: measurement standards. India uses SI units of measurement which is maintained by the National physical laboratory. The NPL was also involved in the research to devise the chemical formula for the indelible ink. I probably should have chosen a better picture for this clue.
