@Viswamitra sir, the first image did point to something that came to mind which got attention world wide. Dismissed it thinking it should have something to do with operations that other 3 images pointed to. Anyway got it now.

I have learned some invaluable lessons out of @jskls, @Rihana, @Gauir03 and @Akanksha's response to my questionnaire. Every response clearly indicates the trouble they experience with clear cut practical solution beside well laid out plan to solve puzzles. Everyone of them appears very practical and I have to admit I have a long way to go to get to that level of wisdom. I am still approaching the puzzles on a trial and error basis with no specific method in mind. Mostly, the familiarity with the subject/image, a little bit of intuition, verbal clues, etc help me a lot. Sometimes break to make another approach later helps identify the idea of the puzzle-maker. Other times, sheer luck helps me to connect all the dots. I do have an image of each neurite in my mind and that also helps find answer to the puzzle faster. When they break that image, I get into trouble.

That is what we did for over a year and we had so much fun! But, and I am sorry to have to say this, the clues people were giving were so goddamn awful that it was ruining the puzzles. I got tired of begging people to make their clues indirect. I could go back and pull up examples of dead giveaway clues that made me want to tear my hair off! I find the tags much better than direct clues that give away the answer.

If you feel that your clue is clever and won't ruin the puzzle, don't hide it. I would love that. Gives me more to work with. But if not then it's better to hide it. I personally don't feel tempted to look. In fact I have not looked at a single clue for viswa's puzzle.

Tags were my last resort. We can use the tags until everyone learns to give good clues.

Like Viswa said, even when we use tags, don't just put the answer under it. Write something indirect and cryptic.

I don't like singling anyone out, but please see @butterflyice 's clues. They are always right on point. They disclose nothing while providing strong hints. Such clues don't need to be covered up.

Tags are a necessity. Many of us, me included, are still learning how to give clues that are cryptic enough. Giving clues is more an art than a skill, and will take time to learn. Clues are not the same as hints.
We could also leave it to your discretion whether to remove tags, or add tags to clues. :) Feel free-er to edit our posts. Not always much fun to be in-charge of such threads. Thin line separate the Grinch from Santa. :)

I could do that, but with the way the coming year is shaping up, I am only going to get more and more pressed for leisure time. It is a serious time commitment.

What I will do is this -- I will try to avoid tags as far as possible. It means putting more thought and time into the clues, but I guess I should walk the walk, instead of just talking the talk. Can't preach what I don't practice! :biggrin2:

Viswa sirji, you better have a really good explanation for the money clue, or I am going to mount a spirited objection. There are only two possible answers to your puzzle, an explosive orange and green dress, or a sad muddle of a helping hand we extended to our ungrateful neighbors.

    @Gauri03,

It is the later. You got it.

Where is the money? I didn't see it. I only saw the number in it and tied to the peak number of military personnel deployed at a given time of the engagement.:rotfl

I warned you earlier that the first image is not relevant to solving the puzzle and it is only helpful for details.

It is the effect of seeing Buckingham Palace to indicate Palace on Wheels.gigglingsmiley

I had the answer in my very first search. It was your money that sent me down another path. :)

I will post my puzzle after you post the answer.

The answer to the puzzle #4606
    Indian Peace Keeping Force

As I mentioned earlier, images 2 to 6 are the most critical to solve the puzzle and image 1 & 7 are used for details.

Image 2 – Operation Pawan meaning “Operation Wind” was the codename assigned to the operation by the IPKF to take control of Jafna from the LTTE.

Image 3 - Operation Checkmate was an anti-insurgency operation carried out by the IPKF against the LTTE in the Vadamarachi are of Norther Sri Lanka in June 1988.

Image 4 - Tiger – Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam members are always referred to simply as Tigers.

Image 5 – V.P.Singh, the Prime Minister who ordered the pull out of IPKF from Sri Lanka based on the request from then newly-elected Sri Lankan President Ranasingh Premadasa.

Image 6 – Rajiv Gandhi, the Prime Minister who order the IPKF to go to Sri Lanka upon execution of Indo-Sri Lankan Accord, signed with Sri Lankan President J.R.Jayewardane.

Image 1 – Size of IPKF at its peak in Sri Lanka (The number 100,000 in the Romanian currency note is relevant and not the currency or the country)

Image 7 – K. Karunanidhi, then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, infamously refused to honor the military personnel returning to Chennai after the IPKF’s engagement was called off alleging that the military worked against the interest of Tamils. In my view, it is treason.

In lieu of Image 7, I had Sri Lanka’s map in it and later decided to remove it as it immediately leads to IPKF.

Key words – If anyone understood the Operation Pawan or Operation Checkmate, the answer would have been derived easily. For those who found those two hard, a combination of V.P.Singh+Rajiv+Tiger will lead to IPKF.

The Tamils in Sri Lanka had the sympathy of people in Tamil Nadu for years until LTTE became violent terrorist organization deploying Guerrilla war strategies against the innocent civilians, levying taxes on the Tamil population in Sri Lanka and recruiting young teens into their military operations. Even now, there is significant sympathy for LTTE in Tamil Nadu after the Sri Lankan army uprooted the base of LTTE with enhanced combat operations. For years, the leaders of LTTE including Velupillai Pribhakaran were freely entering Tamil Nadu borders and commanding their Guerrilla warfare from Indian borders. Eventually, this IPKF operation resulted in LTTE assassinating Rajiv Gandhi during his visit to Tamil Nadu for election campaigning.
