@viswamitra sir, I experience puzzle solving block now and then. In Akanksha's recent puzzle since I don't follow politics, I couldn't figure out with so many attempts. I had 'Lal' figured out and broken/shattered dreams but couldn't fit "Ramayana" or "Mahabaratha" (my interpretation, I wouldn't have guessed about Ratha Yatra and since Rama's image was also there I considered them as EPICS) with Partition of India - Jhinnah's image(again in this image Partition appeared as a key point to me rather than Jhinnah himself) and I was looking for all those with "Lal" in Jhinnah's period. So I believe background in this subject would have helped. Jinnah + red + shattered dreams ; Jinnah + red + rama ; Jinnah + red + chariot - nothing helped ; As far as I have observed every individual has a unique style. some puzzles makers craft it beautifully that more than one image talks In case of some puzzles if we can identify one image the rest will seem to make connection. some will result in interesting search and most of the times will be able to solve it. some puzzles are really hard to approach without verbal clues. I try the basic search if not wait for verbal clues and those are the puzzles everyone would approach and solve it just like that. I wonder how :confused I am going to follow keep it simple straegy.. if in half hour I am not able to associate any of the images I shall wait for answer to be posted. BTW waiting for Gauri's answer!
For Akanksha's puzzle I had two answers in mind. Advani and Ramkrishna Dalmia. I found Advani early on, but the lal==rose connection wasn't apparent right away. I searched some more and found Ramkrishna Dalmia who fit the clues surprisingly well. He was Jinnah's bestie, tried to broker partition deal but failed, had business in Karachi. If you made the leap to connect the rose to Nehru, whom Dalmia hated with a passion, then all clues make sense. But I trust Occam's razor, so I took another look at Advani, and the light-bulb turned on. The rose was lal.
Wow! Viswa Sir that is amazing. I knew that people will connect Karachi and Indian with someone born before 1947. But you linked up with someone alive and that too LK was :hatsoff. I am sorry that the hindi word of Red impacted your reconciliation. I will keep that in mind for the future.
@Gauri03, If this is your struggle, imagin the struggle someone like me who is Hindi challenged to derive Lal from Red Rose.
Viswa, I will answer both your puzzle and very interesting questionnaire later today. It's been a hectic day. Request to all: Please keep spoilers covered up.
Yes. it is challenging. For me, whenever i see anything, the hindi word appears in my mind first. Even my counting happens in Hindi. It is not even my mother-tongue but for some reason that's how my mind is wired.
