    My clue for Pepper's puzzle "Ek musht...a fistful of dust" was a reference to Bahadur Shah's ghazal,

    Na kisi ki aankh ka noor hun, Na kisi ke dil ka qaraar hun
    Jo kisi ke kaam na aa sake, main woh ek musht gubaar hun.
    (Neither the light of anyone's eye, nor the solace of anyone's heart;
    I am but a useless handful of dust.)
