@Gauri03, There has to be a minimum period of at least 12 hours before hints (Of course no direct clues should be given at any time) are given for the puzzle giving clean 12 hours for neurites to directly work out of the images in the puzzle.
I don't think more rules are necessary as long as people are a little mindful of the clues they post. A good clue is something obscure yet pertinent. For example if the puzzle is about Ved Vyas, instead of saying Mahabharat or Bhagvad Geeta, say something like 'epic grandfather' or 'Vishnu avatar -- splitter not preserver'. Vyas was the grandfather of both the Kauravas and the Pandavas, he is believed to have been an avatar of Vishnu, and his name literally means the splitter of the Vedas. Such a clue adds interest to the puzzle without giving the answer away. It makes the puzzle just a teeny tiny bit easier. I hope you get my drift.
Hope I can post an easy one....This is a very simple one. For many no googling needed. What do these picture clues suggest? Not a person though ....
Feeling afraid and shy to say this to Endaro Mahanubhavulu (many great people in thread) :hide: a little less speed in puzzles and a little more scintillating banter, banter-clues... maybe? ===== And OP Garu, adding poll options after votes submitted, and adding votes for voters... an Arab Spring election of our own? What is voice vote?
I'm going to use Rihana formatting. ========================= I agree. More talk people. Let's slow it down a bit. This race for solving and posting puzzles will leave us burnt out very soon. Let's talk about the puzzles, exchange trivia and opinions. For example, the person in Surekha's puzzle is very interesting. I read about him in an Amar Chitra Katha. I could tell some stories about him. New rule: After the answer is posted, the puzzle-maker must post some interesting tidbit, personal opinion or anecdote about the puzzle or the process of making the puzzle. Something. Anything. A blog you read, a random Wikipedia page you landed upon, something you remember from school, and so on. A conversation starter. I should go back to posting my daily dose of random happenings. None of you folks respond so I stopped doing it. Felt like a lunatic talking to myself. =========================== I was being threatened with WWIII! No choice. Neurons thread is "best Korea" and OP is "dear leader". =========================== Voice vote as in "the ayes have it". Translated to a forum it would mean pick one option and ask everyone to post yes or no. If the ayes win we pick option 1; if the nays win we go with option 2.
Without realizing, I contributed to the puzzles moving at a very high speed. I don't like neurites getting burned out due to my enthusiasm. I am here to support anything that everyone likes. Please feel free to let me know how I can help to keep everyone's interest alive. My apologies. Viswa
