You underestimate the islander neurites whose favourite pasttime with a tub of vanilla icecream is watching every damn historical documentary telecasted. He occupies a cameo role in almost all the featured documentaries on East India Company.

Here he is entry-level quoted as :
Many Company men embraced life in India by marrying local women and taking on all the trappings of the nabob, although some like Hindoo Stuart, also found a spiritual home there.

(the interesting bit is for the viewer to explore)

P.S: Index is great, Gauri! ("wet saree puzzle" was too tempting not to peep in)

Ok, then it looks like everyone has solved the puzzle. Surekha has informed that she has found the answer. I suppose I can share the solution and the clues.

Answer to puzzle #3391 : The theory about Jesus Christ having lived in Kashmir.

Pic 7: Dr. Fida Hassnain is a Kashmiri writer and a Sufi mystic. He has featured in documentaries supporting the contention of the Ahmediya Muslims which believes that Jesus Christ lived in India and died in Kashmir and that he did not die on the cross. He has written many books on the “Lost years of Jesus Christ.”

Pic 5: Jesus Christ came to India and came to Rajasthan.

Pic 1: From there he visited Jagannath Puri where he learned about the Vedic teachings.

Pic 3: Hemis monastery in Ladakh where there are a lot of scrolls which provide evidence for this theory.

Pic 2: The lost sheep or the lost tribes of Israel who are mostly settled along the silk route and some of them live in Kashmir in Gutlibagh, 50 kms from Srinagar. This is where Jesus Christ is believed to have lived and preached till he died at a ripe age. These tribes call themselves Bani Israelis.

Pic 6: A Chinese text preserved in Tibet called the "Glass Mirror" mentions Yesu, who was "a teacher and founder of the religion who was born miraculously, proclaimed himself the Savior of the World," and who followed Buddhist principles.

Pic 8: The coins refer to the age of Shalivahan in the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] century CE when the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] great Buddhist conference took place in Kashmir and when the revival of Mahayana Buddhism took place. Many scholars believe that Christ was the driving force behind this great revival.

Pic 4: Gandhiji was extremely influenced by the teachings of Christ – principles such as non violence of the active kind as against the passive kind. A parallel has been drawn between Christ’s decision to enter Rome in the face of threat to his life and that of Gandhiji’s salt satyagraha.

If this theory is true, then it would mean that Christ spent the majority of his time in India.
