Puzzle for today ready - tried to make it challenging (took me the better part of the day to research and create), though I do know that the neurites here will just crack the puzzle like an egg shell!!!!! One thing I can say is I enjoyed the researching process and all the info I gathered in the process. :-D
Is someone still working on the puzzle #3361? It looks like most have got the answer. I know I have to wait for 24 hours to publish the answer. If there are no objections, I will publish the answer no later than noon ET today. Viswa
I think we're all old neurites now, meaning we have an intuitive understanding of when a puzzle has played out. For future reference, once you feel that a puzzle is done, or the puzzle-maker announces a time for the answer, just go right ahead and post the next one. No need to wait around asking, "can I post?" Easy way to gauge whether a puzzle is done is to check if all the usual suspects have chimed in.
Some non-trivial trivia, I have thing for dates, anniversaries... 100 years of General Relativity 100 years of General Relativity - Al Jazeera English http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/24/s...rod=nytcore-ipad&smid=nytcore-ipad-share&_r=0 "On November 25, 1915, 35-year old German-born Albert Einstein presented a series of equations to the Prussian Academy of Sciences. They were an attempt by him to broaden the scope of his more limited, but now more famous, special theory of relativity, best known by the formula E=MC2, published 10 years earlier." "Einstein's equations on relativity are also the basis of the GPS - global positioning technology - found in smartphones and used widely for navigation.Based on his theory, the speed of the satellite and effect of Earth's gravity on it make any clock on board a GPS satellite run slightly faster than a clock on Earth." Next time the GPS guy/gal says, "Make a U-turn", thank Einstein.
great information Rhina. Though we use GPS often i don't know about Einstein's equations on relativity.
Here is the answer for the puzzle # 3361. Sir Ben Kingsley Clue 1: Mahatma Gandhi to indicate he acted as Gandhi in the film "Gandhi". Clue 2: Map of Yorkshire to indicate where he was born Clue 3: He was knighted in the year 2002 Clue 4: He won Grammy Award in 1984 for the best spoken word (non-musical Recording) for "The Words of Gandhi". Clue 5: He was awarded the Indian civilian honor "Padma Shri" in 1984 Clue 6: His father is from Kenya and instead of giving the map, I decided to give a major monument in Kenya to throw some challenge to this otherwise simple puzzle. Interestingly, his father, Rahimtulla Harji Bhanji, a medical doctor was born in Kenya and a Gujarati Indian descent. Ben Kingsley's original name is Krishna Bhanji. The key word search "Gandhi+Yorkshire+Knight Bachelor" (the first three clues) would bring Ben Kingsley's name and the rest are to validate the person. Everyone of you got it. Viswa
Where the shepherd (allegedly) rests? Some images don't fit yet - desert, mirror, so I might be off track. :biggrin2:
